I was just looking at the manual for the DelayLab for the first time, there is a way to calibrate the pedal for any TRS delay pedal so you get a full, even response.

I did the calibration with the VPJR and the Moog and never got them to give a smooth back to front, but maybe I did it wrong.

I['m] happy to report that I just traded for a Roland EV-5 and it works perfectly.

I find it so bizarre that Vox doesn't offer one, or even have a suggestion of workable options. :whateva:

Korg (who owns Vox) has one, and they're coming out with a bigger one soon that also works as a vp.

Ryan, I run something like this plus a few: fuzz > delay > reverb > fuzz > DelayLab > reverb > amp

Based on my experience with the 3 and my horrible typos, I can only recommend the Roland, but I do so hardily.

you might realize im a turd when i say i dont have any reverb
ive realized in the last couple weeks i missed an important link
that aside
do you keep the first delay at a pretty mellow setting ahh fuck it,,,sorry
this aint the place for this
but this,i think,is
where the hell do you guys fit this beast
im thinkin instead of makin a bigger board, im gonna make a another one just for dlab,vp, and expression

Right now I am using a Homemade board, thick wood, inclined a bit on the back side. I use some of those risers for a PT board. At the least I can route power and cable underneath the DelayLab. I am definitely considering changing up the style of board that I have though. I like the shape of the Chemistry Design Werks wide board but I would still velcro it, fuck using zip ties...

I think I'm fiiiiinally gonna get one of these tomorrow. I heard some more demos here and there and it sounds great, especially some of the dorky artifacts that come out of some of the more maximum settings.

You guys still enjoying yours?

I like my El Capistan, but I'd rather have a longer, easier to use looper with some fun delay effects.

i love it
but ive gotten two more delays since i got it
i use it mostly for the stereo shit it does
and looping now
im gonna say this and may regret it
but if i needed cash
i would sell the dlab before anything else
not that its bad
i just dont use it to its full potential
i will someday
and its definately worth the dough
and the looper is so easy to use

I flipped mine to my roommate because I wanted a longer looper, but one thing I did that was fun was use the bit crush mode with a medium bit rate and set the sample rate to decrease and blend to increase with the expression pedal.
:O
Super cool.
I would occasionally "catch" and emit a blast of loud noise, but otherwise totally cool, unique sounds.

I still haven't procured one, but I'm also still set on getting it. I really liked the DL-4 as an all around delay pedal with looper, and this one seems to have so much more to it with all the extra weird sounds. One of the things I really liked about the DL-4 was the ability to exploit a lot of the settings, so I'm going to be really into that when I get the DelayLab. Just pushing it into doing things that it probably shouldn't. I got the rest of my small board set up, so this will be the final thing to put at the end of the chain so I can do some fun looping stuff.

been brushing up on the manual
im real interested in the functions
that allow different tempo/time for each channel
ive gone as far as putting a seperate pedal
on the bass channel
but since both go through the vox
it wasnt doin what i like
but i think this is gonna be what im lookin for
i have the rrr on the guitar side
been likin how that sounds
i just want basic clean repeats on the bass side

hmmm
came back to talk about dual band
guess what
it took me this long to figure out
what i was eondrin in the last post
2 months
i usually leave it at the space
but now my home stereo setup is so badass
i can take full advantage of it
and im learnin butloads
so dual band parallel setting
lows go through one channel
highs out the other
delay times feedback and mix all controllable
its a fuckin blast
low open string will just bump along
and higher plucks or mutes you can get a ratatatat
and it kinda fades to the backround as just drone
if you start really gettin into a riff
without becoming overpowering mudd
i switched to constant paramaters
but somethin went wrong
my presets paramaters all changed
not to what the dials are set at
theyre just fucked
not sure what happened
didnt know it affected presets at all
shoulda left well enough alone
theres a chart at the end of the manual
says what every knob does on different settings
alot of them are different
and theres a few that have dual stereo delays
cantwait to try the reverse with different times
