Did...did you look at the thread?

I figured, when you say "drummer," Keith Moon is simply implied.

Lol, sorry I had only skimmed it and missed the couple of times he was mentioned. I'm still surprised he wasn't mentioned more, but I guess people just feel like its being redundant to just keep naming previously mentioned drummers.

Really surprised how many people like ringo though.

Ringo Starr
Jaki Leibezeit(how is it this guy has only been mentioned a couple times? Turn off the Radiohead and put on some Can people!)
Art Blakey
John Bonham
Ginger Baker

This list is not in order. If it was, It would be exactly the same except Bonham would be #2. Sometimes #1. Well, maybe #1.

That band just as a whole should make into favorite [insert instrument-ist/er here] threads.

Everyone here has such good taste. I can't even begin to describe how much I love fugazi!

I would also like to give a second nomination for dude from battles/helmet.

I have never been able to better define "Overplaying" than by simply pointing to Bedlam in Goliath's drums. It nearly ruined the album for me how much it's just JACKED UP CONSTANT DRUMMING OMG HE'S SO GOOD

I miss Jon Theodore.

Ah! Jon Karel! Totally forgot about him, he's a beast indeed.

To be honest I gotta agree with you there, the TMV thing was just for reference in case someone wanted to check him out. I think his playing that I've heard outside of TMV is pretty incredible though, a lot less 4 billion hits per second type of shit, much more tasteful.

That's good to hear, that he has taste and restraint. Though, now, I'm left to question the judgment of Omar.

I feel exactly the same way you do as to the playing on Bedlam, the missing of Jon Theodore, and totally agree about the blame being squarely on Omar. But I always blamed Omar for that. He's such an insane control freak, that not a single note or beat makes it on a TMV album without his say-so.

& I'm fucking pissed his Vic Firth Drum Clinic isn't on youtube anymore, but it's incredible & I found it on some random site.
He puts a hi-hat on his snare and plays around with it's positioning. So sweet.
