Safe as milk all the way!!
Now for the question...
This made me realize that you can annoy your parents with music. That music might actually mean something:

This made me want to play music:

also:

This made me actually do it (several years later):

These made me realize that Jazz is nothing I should leave to my dad:

This made me start singing:

This will be eternally linked to this girl (one girl each):

This made me realize that you can do anything you want, music has no boundaries:

Yeah, I like almost everything he did as well. It's all good.

This record and specifically the video for Freedom is what first exposed me to subversive,...anti-political/anti-corruption type music.

It's pretty much the nudge I needed to realize that our "leaders" do not have our best interests at heart.
EDIT: I guess what I mean to say is it was this record that allowed me to shake of my naivety and realize that there is in fact,...injustice and inequality perpetrated by the larger entities that control our governments.

Everything I am musically is because of these 4 albums:
Chromelodeon - Heart of Sawdust
Minutemen - Post Mersh Volume III
Hotfoughtcold - Porrastruvat
Minibosses - Minibosses

Antipop by Primus totally destroyed my pre-teen mind. Total mindfuck. But at the time I didn't understand what was going on. The one that did it to me as a fully aware musical connoisseur was Repeater by Fugazi. I still haven't heard anything that raw and that vital since...nor do I expect to.

My uncle played me this at earshattering volume when i was 14, it hurt my ears so bad and it felt like my ears would explode but damn i loved it. I didn't see the guitar the same after that, it had gone from being a relaxing little machine to a violent, bloodthirsty beast who wanted to kill everything in it's way.
To quote Jack White: "That was it"

Hrmmmm...I'm not going to post any fancy pics,as I'm at school. BUT:
Sonic Youth-Goo
Was blown away by "Kool Thing" upon hearing it in the 5th grade
MBV-Loveless
what this and "Goo" did was open my eyes to a wealth of guitar music that wasn't metal
Dinosaur Jr. -Green Mind
I don't think it's their best, but it's the first one I heard and bought. The nail in the Hesh Coffin.
Neil Young-Rust Never Sleeps
Even though I was named after the album Zuma, this is the first one that really caught my attention.
Neil Young-Reactor
Hey,there's more to life and music than Slayer
Black Sabbath-a mixed tape that was made for my older brother. He was more into George Michael at the time,so I inherited it. Tunes were from Paranoid on up to Never Say Die.
And lastly,

Seeing this at age 11 on MTV's Closet Classics made me want to "learn more about fuzz pedals".

What. Your parents are awesome.

Rust Never Sleeps is one for me too, my dad always listened to loads of neil young and I never paid much attention, and one day I heard Rust Never Sleeps and it blew my mind. Dunno why it took so long to notice how great he is, I guess I was probably in some "if my parents like it it sucks" stage, before I realised my dad likes tons of great music.

Yeah, man! My dad originally wanted to name me Montezuma, after that album. My mom intervened, and a compromise in the form of Monty was reached.

On my 11th birthday my uncle bought me this on cassette and it was all over

Hell Songs is an incredibly overlooked/underrated album. The way they make their guitars sound sometimes on that album is out of control.
