I'm with Aen on the Squier Tele Custom MkII, it's become my main guitar and I managed to get the action so ridiculously low on it... so nice for under £200
The Pickups in it are epic too, I was a bit uncertain about them before playing it but dayumn.

P90s are teh seks.
Pete Townshend is teh seks, even though he switched to Strats. From what I have read, he started using Fenders because they are easier to repair than Gibsons after he smashes the shit out of em. Lower cost.
Santana? He played with Chad Kroeger and now I have lost all respect for him
SG Classic is high on my GAS list right after a Jazzmaster and about neck and neck with a 335 style guitar...

Townshend also played Rics for a while, and strats here and there in the 60's. And about every other guitar under the sun. So, I don't see what's the big whoop about him playing strats now.
