How tall is tall? The one above is mine. I have a matching set of 4x12s in a diagonal pattern. The cab is about 4 feet high. and just barely 28 inches wide iirc.
Originally i was trying to mimic the old young widows cabinets, but i like these too.
I know they aren;t tall, but i love the cabinet configurations these dude make. Why go tall boy when you can go fat boy 8x10?

haha, y'all are crazy.
I own an Electric 8x10", and it's a fucking albatross. 200 lbs! Shit is ridiculous!
Such a pain in the ass, aaaand my two Mesa Diesel 1x15"s are just as loud and sound better.
Ha, thinking about converting it to a guitar cab.
I dig my dumb 4x12", though. Just a normal sized Peavey (rules) 4x12", but yeah.
Bigger than that and you're just making shit harder on yourself.
Modular, dudes, modular.

Oh man, believe me. anytime i play a basement show and have to carry that thing down some tiny staircase, i wish for a normal sized/ weighted cabinet. I've had friends with 6x12 cabs and helped them move them too. I would much rather have a 4x12 + 2x12 combo.

BEST BACKLINE EVER! I know they had two sets built, one for the US and another for EURO tours. It's retired now days, chilling out at Emperor's old shop, some of it at least.

They used this setup last time I saw 'em, shit looks even harder to lug around/fit through confined spaces.

That's how I do it. As much as I wanted a badass 6x12 I chose to have Emperor build me an Oversize version of the 4x12 and 2x12. Moving it isn't too bad at all. Those large column cabs are the shit though, aesthetically speaking.

I own emperors because of young widows and coliseum. I saw them on tour years ago and thy both had emperors and they were the coolest cabinets i had ever seen.
I've also really been wanting a 2x12. I only ever bring one of the 4x12s to shows, and would love to bring both, but can;t fit everything in my car. I can cram a 2x12 somewhere. but who knows.

I saw Young WIdows in Philly and the people working the FUC were complaining saying they had the biggest heaviest cabs ever. It was funny.

Likewise.
Saw Young Widows and Mouth of the Architect opening for TAAS back in 2006 at a little club in Chicago, Beat Kitchen. At the time, I hadn't even heard of Emperor cabs (or Young Widows for that matter). Needless to say, they were probably the best opening act I'd ever seen. I couldn't take my eyes off those god damn cabs!
Actually caught Raise The Red Lantern (3/4 of the Emperor crew) shortly thereafter, same deal. Badass cabs everywhere, many loaded with the lights and synched to their set. Love that shit!

I'm sure. The first time I saw 'em they loaded all that shit in/out by themselves. Dedication to an amazing backline, since abandoned, understandably.

^^^ Agreed. The ear plugs on top of the head made me laugh.
I can't believe the shit people gig with in this thread. I like looking at it, but gat damn.
EDIT: "shit" is not meant in the derogatory way in the above sentence.

At the Talkbass GTG yesterday, I was drooling over an SWR 8x8. That thing sounded amazing.

Very nice, as usual! You've got some high power/high volume shit my man (V4 too?). Ever get a chance to let those amps off the chain, just rage on that shit? I'd imagine those windows in that pic may not like it so much...

it has been quite a while since I've been able to open any of the big amps up.
just heard yesterday that my old practice spot is reopening, though!

I love my verellen so much. best gear purchase ever for me. pretty much the only one i haven't had second thoughts about.
As for the coop, the one dude in this band:
http://ladderdevils.bandcamp.com/ has a coop. (he was also in inkling). I talked to him the first time i saw them because at the time he was the only guy around philly that i knew of with a verellen besides me. He loves the amp, it sounds absolutely amazing live, but i know he said he does wish that he had gotten the loucks at times. The ONLY reason he said that is that he competes with his other guitarist who plays a sunn 0))) Concert lead and he gets lost live sometimes.
Moustache_Bash wrote:^^^ Agreed. The ear plugs on top of the head made me laugh.
we're retarded. And we practice louder than some bands play live.
