Now someone buy my Rene + Tempi so I'm not broke pleeeaaase
Lyra-8 is pretty sweet, but I'm probably going to sell/trade mine. It sounds amazing, but I really haven't really clicked with it as much as I was expecting and once the initial honeymoon phase wore off, I've pretty much stopped using itbehndy wrote:lol. hurm. hit me up if you decide to jettison it? i.... am interested.MrNovember wrote:Lyra-8 is pretty sweet, but I'm probably going to sell/trade mine. I'm a CL fan, own and use a grip of CL gear. Plumbutter 2, Tetrax, Tetrazzi, Cocolase.MrNovember wrote:I'm with you on that. Haven't played any actual CL stuff, but have played all the Ieaskul F Mobenthy modules and as much as I love the ideas behind all his stuff, it's just too much work to tame and actually get good sounds out of it. I much prefer making weird noises with a more straightforward synthfever606 wrote:I’ve played a couple of the bigger CL synths and... I... don’t really GET them. I’d probably hit a Tetrax, though... that one seems to make the most sense (probably because there’s only so much going on).
This is exactly what I love about CL gear and what always makes me want to try it, but every time I have owned something similar (IFM modules, Mescaline) this is also the reason I end up flipping it. You can definitely make amazing sounds with them, I just don't like having to stumble around in the dark to find them. That being said, I still really want to try a Cocoquantusmr. sound boy king wrote:No one really knows how CL gear works or what it should do. The gear itself is psychedelia and hallucinates its own sounds. Even if you are an electric engineer and understand which diodes do what you won't be able to reach The End of CL possibilities.

This tracks with all of my experience with CL kit and the folks that use it...mr. sound boy king wrote:No one really knows how CL gear works or what it should do. The gear itself is psychedelia and hallucinates its own sounds.
Solid trade. I'd like to get one at some point, as it seems like I could actually integrate it into my stuff gear and musical though processes without upsetting the mental hierarchy too much... I keep toying with the idea of pickup up a Double Knot for the same reasons...mr. sound boy king wrote:Tetrax is a good place to start. I straight-up traded an 0Coast for mine and feel good about that trade still.
NOW you tell me this!?MrNovember wrote:Lyra-8 is pretty sweet, but I'm probably going to sell/trade mine. Haha sorry! It's still amazing and you will love it!worra wrote:NOW you tell me this!?MrNovember wrote:Lyra-8 is pretty sweet, but I'm probably going to sell/trade mine. I've had mine for 3 days and it is amazing sounding. The oscillators are very organic, very Buchla-esque. You're going to love DLD, it's been my favorite delay in eurorack so far.MrNovember wrote:Haha sorry! Behndy already scooped my Lyra and now I've got a DLD (+ some cash) on the way. Probably going to put the cash into proper monitors or maybe a Witch Shifter
