yeah. only ordered twice from them i think? both times were STELLAR. i always check there first.
hurm. so, i'm torn. the Bit has got some CRAZY NICE sounds in it. it's a blast to play. but........ and i'm a goof about bypasses so i don't know if i'm saying this right..... it's a true bypass if it's unpowered and it still passes signal? or can buffered bypasses do that too?
either way, the bypass on this is BAD. or there's something wrong with mine. i'm just going bass -> Bit -> Rusty Box -> power amp -> speaker. and if i have the Bit unplugged, clean signal is good, silent when string muting or if i have the killswitch on my bass in off position. plug in the Bit, i get a pretty audible hiss. even with the Bit turned off. play a clean note (the hiss is only annoying if nothings going on) it sounds like my clean tone, click on the bit with it full mix clean, volume drop and some of the ass of my tone goes away. even dialing in something pretty dirty and loud with the Bit, gets quieter and more assy when i click it off.
i hope mine's is busted. i LIKE this pedal. super musical and easy to dial in. durrrr. it's only two knobs. VERY cool. emailing Malekko and Prymaxe now.
any thoughts?

I know that when the Malekko 616 first dropped there were issues with some of them and you could send them back to get fixed. Might just be a fluke?
I'm sure Malekko would fix it for you though

yeah. i've heard nothing but good things about Malekko, and Prymaxe are the SHIT. um. good poo shit not bad poo shit. love. THEM. i'm sure i'll get taken care of.
i'm just concerned with it being a design flaw vs. a buggy unit. shit, mistakes crop up in ANYbody's line. i'm soooooooo not worried about that. i just REALLY like it. then if it's a bad 'un i have, i can have a good 'un! that'd be DELICIOUS.
anybody else have one yet? i think DannyDoubleV's's's's's gets in tomorrow or Friday? anybody? ANYBODY??!?

Could you throw it in a TB loop? You might be able to jerry-rig something, especially if you dig it

gahhhhhh.......... no. not if it has a volume and tone drop. then it's a TB loop with an EQ and boost or some shit. plus, lol, that would TOTALLY defeat the purpose of a small ass pedal.
"so tiny yeah? COOL. oh those 6 things? just there to make it sound ok. COOL YEAH. cool."
but yeah, i was TOTALLY thinking about that. don't think it'd work that well. and i'd feel SILLY.

hahaha true. That kind of blows. You pop the back off yet to see if there are trimmers inside to fix any of those issues?

So it arrived today..

Really liking it! The drive, fuzz & voltage interactions are very interesting, there's a lot of mileage there. Tone & volume really come into their own between 12:00 and 3:00.
Would I have paid $250+postage for it? Unlikely, but that's because I already have a few fuzz & dirt pedals which cross over into its territory quite well (I'm using it for its admittedly very versatile starve function). I definitely think it would hold its own on a minimal board as it has quite a few useable tones (it obviously does Neil Young amp-melting stuff quite well, and to contrast that, Justin Vernon in Bon Iver uses one). Having paid less than half RRP though, it's definitely a keeper (at least until my clone arrives).

Did you check on an internal trim pot? I know Malekko is fond of those, might have a volume adjustment or something?

yah. i don't see any, but Josh from Malekko got back at me super quick. he said there's one, i forgot to ask WHERE so i'm sending a second email. but that doesn't help with the hiss or no-ass. he said it's S'POSED to be quiet. murrrr.

Noice! Pretty please make a good guitar demo. The samples LAL have up on their site are definitely not monstrous.
