why is it so hard to get my jazzmaster to the "dream guitar" shape?
i mean... i could do the matching headstock myself, i culd sand the lacquer off the back of the neck, but why do i have to pay so much for neck binding

i know it's not that easy to do, but i don't know... i want this

Cathedral -> TAFM -> Kill Kill Filter = my house vibrating enough to push the vase on a shelf above me off and inches away from my noggin.
"Killed by Fuzz" would have been an awesome thing to see on a gravestone.

I know, right? I guess I don't leave the house often enough for it to bother me though

why not buy a replacement neck with binding? to bind the fingerboard you'd have to refret it as well unless you find someone so good at routing that they can rout a binding channel AND take the bits of tang (the vertical part of the fret that fits into the fingerboard slot) off the end of the frets which would otherwise stick out of the binding. it'd probably be less expensive to get a new neck.

I just spent the last few minutes imagining different epic ways one could die after playing a monstrous, fuzzy chord

1,000 WAYS TO DIE (BY FUZZ)

So I brought my pedals over to play with my step dad today. He's into like Pink Floyd and a lot of other classic rock, but he was loving the shit out of my smallsound/bigsound pedz and my Kill Kill Filter. Felt good exposing him to some ILF shizz.

because it seems i'd still be looking at a circa 400 dollar investment (actually more, around 500 with the shipping and taxes and customs fees etc)
someday...

I guess the transition from Classic awesome to contemporary weird is timeless. I mean up until I was 17 I was hardcore "R.E.M. is the last good band ever" then I got into stuff like The Flaming Lips and Arcade Fire (also dance-punk). Then when I was 20 or so I got on ILF and I was just at the right spot for the kind of stuff on here.
Getting people into good shit is just about getting them at the right place at the right time. My older sister used to drive us to high school and play stuff like You're A Woman, I'm a Machine and Relationship of Command. I'd be like "ok, whatever" at the time, but now I'm like "Death From Above 1979 are one of the greatest bands evar!!!!!"
