Oh and if you can get that 215 for $100 I will be envious... I love those things with the Black Widows.

I feel like being in a band that is taking writing and arranging more and more seriously,...being able to come up with guitar parts is just another tool in the bag. Yes I am a bassist mainly,...but I do enjoy playing the guitfiddle.
I'm also going to be joining a metal band playing guitar; I'm approaching it from a bassist's mentality of supporting the band rhythmically as well as harmonically. The type of stuff where one guitar player plays a portion of the chord tones and I play the remaining portion,...any solo sections that I might take will be more of ambient/noise parts as opposed to your shredtastic solos. I'm excited about it.
oh hoho ooHHHH
This is exactly where I came from - all of my guitar wankery is rythym, and goddamn........is it FUN.
I sorta cringe everytime I start to go higher on the neck, so I found my sweet spot lies in the lower and mid portion doing chords and ambient/squeeelies/noise.
You gonna get a full geet rig?
They have a "spare" Single Rectifier half stack. 50 watts,...which I think will break up too soon cause there are a lot of pelican-ish clean parts and the other guitar player uses a Krank 100 watt.
I've been paying attention to what guitarist in metal bands are using. I heard some new Converge Live stuff and they were rocking Orange amps and the sound was likeable. Not sure if the guitar player was relying on distortion or fuzz for the main tone,...but it was beast for sure.

I've been finding that my favorite tones come with some sort of fuzz on the neck pup with the tone rolled all the way off.
I'm rocking a Tele Deluxe 72RI

AWESOME. sounds fun Wicky. i always thought it'd be fun to learn some guitar, but i feel so awkward and SHIT when i noodle around on them.
also, finally got a pic of the damage i did to my phone.....

guess i'm gonna put a screen protecter on, see if that helps not let any more pieces of glass fall out. i don't wanna spend a few hundred on an older model to hold me over if the 5 drops in a month or so damnit.

Urrrrrg. Wifey did that to her iPhone 4 a few months ago. We invested in AppleCare when we replaced the phone, cause she's kind of clumsy sometimes.
Gawd, I've been so busy, haven't been able to ILF properly lately. Makes me super duper sad. However, I played around with the Xero standard a bit before I sent it back to Prymaxe, and that just makes me even more excited for the Deluxe when it comes. Also, I've decided I need some sort of overdrive. I'm using the TAFM as an OD right now, and it just feels so...wrong.

I really liked the EQD Monarch on bass. But if I want "less than fuzz" for...some reason...I also just use the TAFM. Taffim.

Behndy, I had the exact same thing happen to my 3GS last fall. I replaced the glass myself for WAYYY cheaper. It took me about an hour or so. It was a little bit of a pain in the ass, because I my huge bear paws had trouble manipulating the tiny little screws and shit, but I got it to work.

Let me know if you want me to point you to where I got the parts.

Yeah, I don't know about $100. The speakers themselves go for over $100
a piece.
Black Widows are fucking awesome. My main cab for years was a Hartke 1x15 that I swapped a Black Widow into (which Aen has now, you can see it in his last couple demos)

FIRST POST IN THE BASS LOUNGE. I guess I might be posting here a little more often when my Kramer 450B comes............. HI FOLKS
Also, I got one of the Peavey 2x15's for $100. It wasn't loaded with Black Widows anymore, however. Solid cab, and surprisingly not so heavy. It had shitty Madison speakers in it though. BUH

I got a 1974 Peavey amp head + Black Widow 215 for $300, although the dude said that the speakers were replaced with '80s BWs. I love the amp...maybe more than my toob one right now.
Kramer 450B, ffffffffffff I'm jealous. There's a dude here trying to sell an aluminum-necked Kramer P for $1k.

It's Fretless, which I'm not entirely certain of, but thankfully (luckily) it's got all the fret markings so I'm hoping it won't be too difficult. Needs new pickup rings and has one tiny hole drilled in it near the other toggle, probably for a phase switch. I can't believe that I got it for $440 shipped....
Question- would a standard humbucker ring work for the pickups of the 450?

Have you seen this?
http://www.fretsonthenet.com/Gibson_Epi ... kramer.htm$20 for a pickup ring though...
Which reminds me -- pickguard prices are RIDICULOUS.
