I had one years ago! I did love it. But sold it for a Strat. lol. Then sold that for another Strat...

I'd revisit it for sure. What do you like about them? I have not touched a guitar in 10 years. So I need a bit of input. I mean I could go to guitar center, but ugh. Fuck that.

Jags have a suprising amount of low end, but I don't know if you'd dig the string spacing.

I'll second the tele recommendation.

Really, they're utilitarian as fuck, so there's nothing to really get in the way of just focusing on playing (on your typical tele anyway, so this isn't about deluxe or customs). They're really versatile, despite the simplicity and the claims that you'll see about them being a one trick pony. I don't have the problem that you seem to have with fat/wide/whatever fingers, but my hands are pretty big and I can get by easily on them (my main guitar is a jaguar tho, so I'm probably just used to working in smaller spaces <_<).

Maybe you could check out some baritone guitars if having a normal scale length isn't necessary? That should be much better for you than a typical scale length (especially since you're so used to bass), and you could always capo up if you need to play higher on the neck.

But yeah, if you're set on a regular guitar, go to guitar center (ask an employee if you can use one, or bring your own?) and try some teles. Sure, it sucks going to guitar center sometimes, but last time I was there, I was playing on a few teles and the range in neck shape alone makes it a bit hard to just recommend one (some had some necks that I'd consider to be fairly fat).

I'd think a JM would be better if he plays bass normally, but yeah. Not sure if I'd recommend something with so many controls + a vibrato tho, just for what I said in my other post. Could always go blacktop/HH (whatever model Devi Ever used in her demos) if they want simplicity tho.

I want a geeetar with good low end and has decent string spacing, not super tight. I'm open to more than 6 strings as well. I would prefer a passive as well. Is that even an issues with guitars? I honestly don't remember.

OH! And I'd like to keep it under 800 new. Cause...you know...I suck. lol

Any suggestions????

someone else said Tele because of the Utilitarian factor. i agree. Tele's are great to *pick up and play*

Looks like I have some investigating to do! Thanks so much for the input! I'm going to try out a few ESP's, Schecters and Fender Tele's. See what I like more. I'm not looking to buy literally this second, but I would like to before the summer.

Actually, if you find an ESP Tele, I think you would love it. Tried one of their strats, incredibly fat and spacious neck. Their teles should be even chunkier, right? Or maybe I was drunk. But you should see if you can find one anyway.
