I am not all that worried about the association at this point. We are stuck with DE:FX for now, for purely financial reasons (anybody want a good deal on 100 Shoegazer enclosures. lol), but this won't be our legacy it will be hers. I guess some people will believe that we treated her badly (ie: did not give her enough money to live on from royalties), but I don't think most will.

Maybe we should address it publicly on social media, but I hate to even give her the time of day. She has tried to bait us into a public fight since before she announced this and I would really rather not satisfy that for her.

I think it may be twofold.
1) poison the well, so that dwarfcraft doesn't want to have anything to do with it (and Devi effectively get's Devi Ever back b/c she's using it as her name again. I don't think it escaped anyone' notice the timing of that) --- mission largely accomplished there

2) 'generate buzz' for her new "webshow". She's admitted it before, what she really wants is to be a celebrity. I think she believes she can then monetize "just being Devi" and live off a cult of personality (she has lamented about not being able to make a living just being herself)
The ratio of her social media exploits vs nose to the grindstone work in software certainly speaks to that.

Is it coldly calculated? well I fear yes and no. I don't think anyone who knows her history would deny she actively sculpts her public persona (and spends a hell of a lot of time, maybe the majority of her time) doing so.
BUT I fear that she may no longer be able to distinguish between the invented persona and any genuine personality that may be left.

I think you guys have handled this like professionals. I can't even fathom the amount of bullshit you guys have had to deal with since she started this shitstorm. There's no need to engage any more with her. That's exactly what she wants. Anybody who has been around this scene for a while knows just how crazy she really is. Her shit used to be annoying. Now it's just incredibly pathetic. She's just grasping for any tiny grains of attention she can get.
