There are two bands I love that my wife just doesn't get, no matter how hard she tries. Lightning Bolt is one of them (the other is Autechre)

I'm that asshole that is learning a few lightning bolt tunes (in correct tuning) just so that I can play them in my college symposium class. Gonna get my old school hardcore/thrash drummer boss to play the drums. Fuck their ears.

Less Than Jake and Streetlight Manifesto would be the two my wifey hates. But that's ok....her favorite band is Hanson and her fav genre is Broadway and Boy Bands.

HAH. yah, i grew up in El Sob until i was 16, moved to Hercules, then Berkeley for awhile. now i'm over in a nice part of Richmond. ZOOM.

My sister lives in L.A. but don't go down to visit as often as I did/ should. That's all I can contribute towords the Cali conversation.

Never been to Cali except for a connecting flight in LA. I want to visit pretty badly though. The state looks cool.

Only parts of Cali I've been to are Owens Valley for some Sierras climbing, and Death Valley, and Yosemite. It's funny, my friend Jarod and I drove all the way across the country twice from Mass to Cali, but never crossed the Sierras to see the rest.

yah. it's a decent area, away from the thuggery, rent is (for California) cheap as butts for a 2 bedroom house, and MAYBE a 15 second walk from my work.

DAMN MY SORT OF SPECIFICNESS.

just picked up a Vizio 32" tv for $80 on CL to replace the busted up 20" i was using that finally died. and i got a newer Western Digital media/hdd interface thing to replace the older one i was using, so the older one goes to work.

NICE. i've really missed watching stuff in downtime/easy non thinking work parts at work. WOOT.
