Did the 856 get redesigned? I had one from the first batch (which arrived broken, another story) and found it inscrutable.

Sewastopol is one of the greatest modules atmo. I've mainly been using mine to re-amp other modules (Beast-Tek Glitch Drum esp.). The pre-amp on that fucker is nasty & awesome.
Yeah Scott re-laid out the controls, added an exp/start-stop switch jack, and a midi jack to route midi thru. Also lower power draw requirements. I had the first one as well and this one (while maybe less aesthetically pleasing) is a bit easier to grok

I need to start using my sewastopol to re-amp the SMR, this is a great idea.
Nice. You've got the 856 sounding dope.

Thanks, I think I'm gonna bring it to the synth meet I'm going to tonight. Should be a good time.

Damn behndy, that's only the "first" installment of the noise eng? I thought you had all sorts of stuff already? Also someone should scoop that erbe-verb, I lovelovelove mine.

I know it's sort of a cop-out answer to greyscales, but the Sequins mode in O_c is pretty nice and has assignable parameters for the CV ins

I am a bit sad that I am going to have to cut deeper into the Euro than I hoped. S anyone looking to expand to 9u? I have a Pittsburgh 360hp case that I really dig but probably I would be better off with a 6u case (plus my control skiff). Let me know what you have and we can figure out the difference in value.

On the upside, my last Buchla module (for phase 1...) showed up so my 12 space is full. I still need 2 breakout panels for my case (midi in and audio out).

I started thinking I want to put my Field Kit and Field Kit FX in my Make Noise skiff with a Morphagene or Nebulae or something like that, then I looked up the power and holy shit the Field Kits draw a lot of power.

dood. they are AWESOME. i just grabbed everything i could afford that was neat to start, and now i'm trying to winnow down to a more focused setup. hit me up if you want it, i Friendo Deal you up.

i have a second Sinc Iter on the way too because they sound BOSS.

also, does anybody here have a Sinc? mind taking the knobs off and let me know if the top Pitch knob is a different width/post size?

:thumb: Still having a think. Would need to replace my Dixie with it (which seems all well and good) but also swap out the fxdx to make room in the case.

jiaaaaaa. all about that filing system.

i spent about 2 hours yesterday shuffling my case. and like. it's sort of fun? but i would also be okayyyyyyy with having someone else do the grunt work and just sitting down to mooble noises.

iiiiiiiiii LIKE the LIP. it looks like it has a veritable butt-ton of depth to explore (giggety), and it sounds gooooood.

first patch playing around with her -

working on a patch with 6 or 7 parts, trying to learn that well for the Electro Open Night thinger in Oakland, trying to do that again next Sunday. but i want to be a bit more prepared and be able to actually play it, not just run it.

Dudes I wish FLXS and O_c appealed to me but I'm not a fan of programming sequences like those. And menus give me creative block.

Korg just needs to make a euro version of the SQ-1 with a bunch of cv control and 16 steps. I'd be all over that.

Get a bunch of Xaoc Tirana's or a couple of Moskwa's. Super simple and immediate sequencers that can still get fairly deep. You'd likely need a quantizer as well though

Could definitely see Tirana being a cool secondary sequencer, especially for modal shifting on Plaits or modulating another sequencer. Just not worth it to have multiple with a quantizer, y'know? Not quite powerful enough on its own in a small rack. But it'll go into future research. Good recommendation.

I... don't get the MD, behndy. Reading the manual makes my brain hurt a little. Kinda seems like René a little with the X and Y thing but sacrifices immediacy for size? Could be wrong, didn't watch demos. Using one encoder to program a sequence seems slow to me.
