Still don't know anything about No Man's Sky, but i'm kind of finally hyped about it now.

Now re-replaying MGS w/ Stealth Camo. I know that noone cares

i've always had some degree of motion sickness and have been noticing it more since i got really into first-person exploration/puzzle/mystery games, mainly on PC. Kairo was the worst for me until i started playing The Witness recently and I go about 30 minutes until i get extremely nauseous/dizzy. i stopped over an hour ago and i still feel like I wanna vomit.

That might be something to do with the FOV of the games?

afaik it's related to FOV and turning speed (too wide and too fast), it can be fixed by narrowing the FOV but it doesn't usually negate the motion sickness entirely, some games let you do this some have zero control.
do developers just ignore this stuff when they don't experience it personally or is it a sacrifice for super efficient gaming where you can see everything and turn really fast even though it's totally unrealistic perspective?
i've read up on it a bit and it seems it's a fairly sizeable number of people that have these problems.

A narrow FOV is meant to be the less realistic perspective from what I gather.
A wider FOV of up to 90 is meant to improve it, along with turning off motion blur, head bobbing and some bloom effects can affect it.
The further you sit away from the screen, the lower your FOV should be.

I'm beyond hyped for it but also realize the potential for disappointment. With the very open ended style of the game, how long am I going to enjoy discovering new planets. Is the procedural generation of environments and species varied enough to stay interesting? Hope there's enough to do and enough variety in the game to keep it fresh. Has loads of potential though and I'm excited.

I've got Doom preordered and I'm eagerly waiting for it, the Amazon Prime preorder discount (20%) finally gives some real incentive to preorder. Too bad there are not many PC games offered as opposed to console. Also Fallout DLC should be cool.

Finally got around to buying Bravely Second. This series is the best Final Fantasy since 9.

It hasn't been released in the US right? It's weird that Australia actually gets something first. :idk:

I got FF Zero or whatever it's called for free with my new mobo, but I haven't played it yet.
Picked up tomb raider and just cause 1&2 for cheap on a steam sale the other week as well, and got universe sandbox 2 on special.
Plus I had a credit from my build order so I got some more ram on the cheap.
Looking forward to nerding it out.

Getting pumped for frozen synapse 2! Sounds like a great way to build on the cool gameplay of the first.
