The Little Phatty was around $1400 at a music store locally, but I was talking to them and they said the Sub Phatty is coming in soon for $999.

I honestly dig the sounds from the videos of the Sub Phatty a lot more then what I heard out of the Little Phatty.

Definitely holding out.

I love that there are people who who loves guitars, noise, and synths.

I also have a Machinedrum, Octatrack and a bunch of pedals and effects. I love playing slide/steel guitar through the synth.

I finally got around to building my barebones Plague Bearer yesterday. It's shocking, it was the very first module I bought, in fact I bought two, and I also bought real Plague Bearer faceplates from FoH. I need to pick up some more 3.5mm jacks so I can build my second one now.

Anyone with a desire to try a cheap distortion/filter/noise/lo-fi type effect should definitely check one out. I see now why it gets such love. Works at fucking up CV too

Mininova is GREAT. If I were to pluck down money on something w/ tiny keys, this would be the one. IT has great stock sounds (seriously) and its not too hard to program. I dig it.

Cancelled my pre-order on MS20 mini, and bought the minibrute instead, I don't think I'd have enough time and patience with the korg's layout (not having presets is bad enough, I don't think I wanna deal with cable patching). For me the minibrute's interface is really intuitive and faster to tweak live. So much bells for the price.

I have a MicroKorg and a Monotribe but I feel I got my first real synth the other day...Moog Sub Phatty.

I've been running it into an Echoplex EP-3 and a Strymon BlueSky and loving it.

what is "real"... not I.

I don't know if I could ever convince myself to buy a mono-synth again. Not good enough with fuzz.

To me the MicroKorg and many similar synths feel like a toy to me. It's a passive experience where I'm more of a note and preset selector rather than a sonic sculptur where I'm deeply involved in the creation of the sounds. Obviously you can sculpt till the cows come home on just about any synth but I never felt inspired enough to really do that. I'm not a synth expert but the sub Phatty gets pretty dirty on its own and 95% of my favorite synth tones are from the 70's and from monophonic synths.

Yeah, the more hands-on sculpting of the recent mono-synths is very nice.
I guess for the stuff I do I really need polyphony. I thrive on harmonic mass.

This is why I love modular synths. You see all the routings in front of you, you can send signals and control anywhere you want from anywhere you want. It's taught me a lot about sound in general.
