Staytrem installed. The difference it makes is just nuts. Didn't realise how much noise that Squier bridge was creating. Action and intonation couldn't be better. All fret buzzing gone. Feel's much sturdier and can take some overzealous strumming.
Annoying to have to spend 1/5 of the guitar's value on a chunk of metal, but it's just perfect now.

Has anyone made a Mustang VI? I really want to build one. I was thinking a single p-90 or Alumitone humbucker and in Sherwood Green or Shoreline Gold. Probably a hardtail bridge because I play in drop C# and the bridge on my Squier is annoying me even after the Staytrem.

At that level of custom, I'd go with something past 30" scale if tuning down that low.
Not aware of anyone who's made a Mustang VI but...this is the internet. Anything is possible!

I'm fairly certain I saw someone had converted a mustang bass to a bass VI.
I think it may have been earlier in this thread even, some guy that is in some band that some people know.

Anyone looking for a fancy black pearl pickguard for their Squier? I switched to black and would love to unload mine. I also have the original pickups I could do without as well...

Interesting idea. Alumitone in neck or bridge?
I went w/ the Knuckle 30" scale, to put on a Tele body. I have the Squier VM P90's but not sure if I leave it Esquier-style, or get the ebay P90 1-ply pickguard, or P90 bridge only/Esquier style. I'll post when completed.
Question: I'm using the same Tele bridge, correct? No need for wider spacing with bass-vi strings?

Nope, string spacing is identical to regular six string (ebow fits it perfectly).

Probably in the middle. I ended up going with a custom Dunable though hopefully lol

Same bridge, ya. Go with two P90s, the middle position is where it's at.

If I can drill/dremel through the ashtray bridge & put a P90 in there that would be cool.

I think a P90 is wider than your regular ashtray, and I think I've seen ashtrays for P90s for sale online. Google it up.

This will be a Squier-Esquire-bass-vi with either the Eldred wiring or one of these
https://sites.google.com/site/phostenix ... s/esquires
I'll use the P90 on something else. I want to keep the ashtrays thing going.
