Yea, MS-3 is static routing (I think you can move the built-in around relatively).
ES-5 is the budget version (still moveable, but has 5 loops versus 9 in the 8, I know they can't count).

Well, hell. Looks like the only answer is to get a ms-3 to put in one of the loops of the es-5

You could do that!
I've effectively got that already (with non-mobile loops after the ES-8 but controlled by MIDI in a DB11 4-pedal switcher), and the GT-001 and Gt-100 on tap.

I couuuuld in theory. Really can’t afford that however, nor do I think I would utilize it to even 15% of its function...much like my brain

Hell, I don't use it to full capacity hardly ever myself. It's just nice to have and not have to ever rewire stuff! More time playing, less time swapping.

I'm still familiarizing myself with the RV-500. All parameters seem accessible via the faceplate, and I have yet to download the PC editor. The assign submenu was overlooked and needs to be a future area of focus.
Some stock preset highlights thus far are Bad Morning, Cheesy Echo, and Low Tension, the last of which can emulate a reverb spring completely losing tension and then reconstituting itself when you hit the tap/ctl switch. There are also a few shimmer and volume swell combos that have inspired prog-gazey noodling.
Part of the afternoon was spent attempting to program a convincing approximation of my Peavey Classic 20 MH's digital spring reverb emulation. After a few more weeks, I should have a better handle on the control interface and be able to record the results.

I got a DD-6 a little while ago, and I'm having lots of fun with the warp and hold modes! A fine sounding delay pedal. Thought about the AM hi cut mod, but I think it's just gas.

I have a new appreciation for the relatively silent Boss footswitch. They were ahead of the curve on that.

I've never understood any BOSS hate. They make good, sturdy pedals. Some of them are a bit too generalist to my tastes, but the PS-3, all the RVs, and the DDs, are great. And I wouldn't mind if someone handed me an HM or a BD. There's pretty much no BOSS pedal that I mind.

I hope they make a GT-0001, and an RE-2.

Giving this thread a bump to express my love for the PS-6. It more or less got me back into making music. Most important pedals in my setup: Blue Box, Green Russian RI, and the PS-6. Run the first two stacked with the sub-octaves dialed completely out on the Blue Box for a synth lead type of tone, then turn on the harmonizer mode of the Boss and leather-clad Pokemon with spikes fly out of your guitar

I've only used one other mode since I've had it. I needed a clean suboctave for a part in a song
