They'll take some dumbass with no tools off the street and make him an apprentice? I've actually been to the local IBEW (not the lineworkers union the electricians union if that is the IBEW) but they were like,..."you have to pay a bunch of money for classes and books". This was quite a few years ago though. I'm willing to knock off the weed smoking to get a real job. I've been pounding the pavement already today. Updated my resume,...sent a few apps off via email; Filled out an app for a warehouse position for some hippy bead distribution (Rings and Things). I might have an in at that place.

I just had an interesting mini-adventure. The 'rents called from a bar asking if I could let out their friend's dog to poop(I do know the people). I was like, "Sure, whatever."
As I'm driving there, I take the fork in the road go down what was described as
the hill and pull into the driveway on the left. Long story short, it wasn't the right hill and it wasn't the right house. I even went to the front door and tried to open it. Wearing all black, I certainly looked like a burglar. It's a good thing the people at that house apparently hadn't been home for at least a week. I call my parents and discover I'm supposed to go down a hill, up another one, then down
the hill along with a bunch of other nonsense that wasn't right. Bad directions are bad.
It's a good thing I hadn't gotten drunk yet(like I'm about to). I had drank a bit, but certainly not above the legal limit. *knows that ILFers hate drunk driving*
