Anyone playing Primal? I worked on that.
I saw a review of Firewatch that got me interested last night.
I really want to get Primal but I haven't got my new system running yet (need to find a copy of Windows 8.1, lost all my old install info. No fucking way ami getting 10).
Once I'm up and running in definitely gonna hit it.
I actually just "upgraded" to 10 and I immediately enjoy it better than 8. They got rid of a lot of stupid things that I didn't like, for instance the start screen or whatever it was called

My mum has it on her laptop and I cannot stand it.
It seems like it's dumbing things down way too much and removing a lot of the accessibility/ease of doing things.
She may have it on retard mode though, but to be honest it shouldn't have one.
I'm sort of thinking I may have to bite the bullet and just get it, but it seems way more oriented to tablet use as opposed to desktop.

Hmm, I honestly haven't noticed any major differences between 8 and 10 other than some streamlining and making things much easier to find (eg. there's not like a million different settings menus, it's just back to using the Control Panel, as it should). And I found Windows 8 way more oriented to tablet than Windows 10. It got rid of the whole start menu with all the square icons that was absolutely useless unless you were using it as a tablet. There is a tablet mode for Windows 10 though. Maybe she has that on?

Hmmm. I might have a play with the settings and see how I feel. That's probably it, actually.
Thanks man.

Yeah, I bought Win10 when I made my new development/gaming PC recently and I was surprised by the fact that it's actually quite good. I expected to be annoyed by it big time and it turned out to be one of the best versions of Windows I've used.

Awesome.
Definitely gonna dig a bit deeper with it now.

i've really liked 10 on my 2-in-1 laptop for a while but they'll have to pry 7 premium out of my cold, dead hands.
7 > 10 > 8 imo

i was still using XP for the better part of 2012 though so maybe i'm stupid.

Haven't upgraded to 10, I've heard it's good but I've heard that there's still some nasty things hidden away. But after all, if you did buy a copy of Windows 7, it would be nice to continue using the things that you spent money on.

Yeah I think that's the key thing.
Money.
Having said that, are you entitled to the free upgrade?

It asks me every day.
I've seen Kingsman, I know how this shit goes down.

Haha!
So anyway I just went to purchase win 10 and be legit for a change, and I'm locked out of my Microsoft account and have to wait for them to verify my details.
This process seems to never fucking end.

To be fair, I've only been using it for like a week and there was one absolutely ridiculous bug at the very start. For whatever reason it updates your trackpad driver to something that doesn't actually work and you have to have a mouse to be able to revert it to the old driver. I haven't noticed anything else though

I can't tell with Windows 10. I've seen a pretty big split down the middle between "Yea it's great!" and "It destroyed everything what the fuck.". I just put it on a fresh laptop install so I'm going to try it on that for a while.

I just got it on. So far so good. No dramas.
It isn't talking to my old hard drives though, so now I gotta pull everything off them and format.
Grrrrr.

I spent some time the first days configuring a few things but since then it's been, as I said, surprisingly nice. I didn't have to transfer stuff from previous windows versions though as I was using a macbook pro before (which is now my wife's), but I assume that apart from some very old applications everything should work...
