So I had my wisdom teeth removed yesterday. Not nearly as bad as some folks made it out to be. Of course, I'm just considering it an excuse to be lazy, high on opiates, and watch movies/play games all weekend. Any movie suggestions are welcome. Bonus points for Netfilx.

GVT, but go for the 15 which can still sound hella good at super low volumes. VHT Special 6 would be good as well since it's essentially a Champ. Having a baby on the way is the may way I keep my amp gas to a minimum these days.

Yep. Love me some HoF. Death is This Communion has always been my favorite album though. And when I saw them play Bastard Samurai he was doing the pickup selector thing as well.

You always have the best advice. I really want some fucking cherry coke now. For some reason I've always thought that caffeine and opiates go really well together.
On the agenda of movies I'll definitely be watching are Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Southland Tales (since I've never seen it and love me some Donnie Darko).
Bioshock Infiinite is in the Xbox and will hopefully suck me in for several hours as well.

The only redeeming feature of "The Hunter" is Bill's tone in the opening riff of Curl of the Burl. Otherwise, the whole thing is dog dump.

For some reason though I really like Bedazzled Fingernails from the Hunter. Otherwise meh but I really like that song. I think it is cause of the weird vocal effects. Makes it kinda proggy and ethereal.

I just remember going to Sonisphere to see them, and they played this awesome mix of Leviathan, Blood Mountain and Crack the Skye, with March of the Fire Ants thrown in, and being so in awe. Then I met them, and they were all rude except Brann. Then they released The Hunter.
They used to be my favourite band without a shadow of a doubt when I was 18.

So last night John and I invited a guy that I had been talking to on Talkbass for awhile about coming down to jam with us on drums...and god damn, holy fuck, he was REALLY good! We went through our entire set with minimal hiccups. It was awesome and I got goosebumps. Seems like the guy is into it, too and willing to make the drive south from Seattle to come to practice. I'm fuckin' so stoked. My wife got a job yesterday, too!

It's all yours if you want it.....
I'll hook you up with a little Doom Room discount as well.
I will get back to you soon on this. I just picked up a new fuzz to play with yesterday, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep it yet.

yeah the drums really are an instrument, not just a metronome. it's awesome. rumors of war is a favourite.
SOOOOO much this! We actually had a GOOD drummer over last night. Was really fun and felt like a practice, not an awkward ass audition. have not had that since Zak left. good drumming makes a band what it is. Without it, we sucked, with it, full frontal awesome

If you're into horror at all Eli Roth's new show Hemlock Grove just launched exclusively on netflix yesterday and all episodes are available. It's supposed to be pretty radical so I'm gonna be watching it a little later for sure.

Not usually into horror, but have heard some buzz about that show. I have been really into finding shit with twists and suspense recently, so it will probably be something good to check out.
I also really want to get into House of Cards, the other netflix exclusive show. Supposed to be all sorts of fantastic.
Just watched Raising Arizona for the first time. Pretty solid flick.
And now I'm trying to finish grading papers before this next percocet takes hold

Check out I Saw the Devil (2010)........... watched it yesterday and it is one of the best movies i've ever seen, definitely the best asian movie i've ever seen, even better than Oldboy to me. my mind was blown.

Todd and the book of pure evil should be some cheesy low budget entertainment.
If you liked raising Arizona, check out wild at heart. really weird movie that kinda parallels the wizard of oz.

Kowloon Walled City and Thou are on this pretty sweet comp that's just coming out. KWC covered Low's July for it, it's kinda cool.

I totally feel ya on the horror subject but I think you'll be stoked with Girl with the Dargan Tattooine, it's actually pretty damn good and certainly suspenseful.
