I've found a couple times lately that this (present day) thread has predicted my past explorations, as I've been working my way through a folder of albums that I downloaded (circa 2016!) but had never unzipped and listened to... Came across the Slouche albums a few days ago, not long after clicking on them here. This came from the same batch of downloads, but I don't think this has been posted yet:

The whole album's a bit patchy, but there's something interesting about this track.

yass - that's a good'un, mellotron'd up and with a rolling, somewhat theatrical dynamic that fits well with a cape-clad cover shot
something about the opening reminds me of a certain Focus tune, but it def goes to another place
other parts bring to to mind The Band, and, strangely, Jack Bruce's 70s solo material - a shame the whole album isn't up to this standard....
