Did anything new come out of the recent NAMM in the bass vi world?

Nope, been quiet.

Squiers are up to $449, assume the Pawn Shops are up too.

Usually Squier is Summer NAMM though.

I think I'm going to have to do the mod that it seems 95% of Bass VI owners have done and get the Staytrem bridge. For the first few weeks, I had no problem with the bridge. I had it intonated fine (not perfect, but fine) and adjusted the height to reduce buzzing and dead notes. It played great.

In the last week or so, I pretty much have to do a mini set-up everytime I pick the guitar up. The saddle height keeps sinking. Those little saddle screws are garbage. They've started just gradually falling out as I play, and I often don't notice until they come out completely and the string just flaps against the frets. Blah.

Get blue Loctite at the hardware store.

Set the height.

Save the $40+ difference.

Yeah, loctite solves this problem nicely, I've done that on my jazz bass.

I've ordered a Staytrem anyway

I've lost one of the little saddle threads for the A string, as it just rumbled out on it's own, so I'd need to source a replacement for that. From reading the reviews, it seems the Staytrem is a sound investment regardless.

Staytrem is great, improved my vi nicely.

Go get some loctite anyway. You're going to want it for other guitars and other situations.

Screws on a bridge that don't need regular adjustment? Loctite. Etc.

It's a "everyone should have some" item.

Very true, and not only for guitars.
