pretty damn sure you can edit the dd-500 to sound like the de-7 by messing with some EQs. getting the feedback to the brink of oscillation isn't hard on that thing. I had both, both ruled indeed. I'm totally snagging another 500 in a couple of months. I miss all the fuckery/sound on sound stuff you can do with 10 sec delay

I love the Boss RE-20 for recording in stereo. Sending anything into the delay wash of the Space Echo
is fun and nicely spaces things, or just spaces them out.
I've been very curious about the Space Echo emulation on the Boss RV-500... but don't have the funds
to get one. Longer delay time would make it worth it if the sound/functions were at least as good if
not better than the RE-20.
RE-20 mixing it up in the mix:

Yea, I'm curious how the RE-20/DE-500 stack up.
If the preamp etc is there, I want the latter badly.
It has to sound like the RE-20/Actual Tape (which it's enough I rarely use my actual big box now).....

Yeah. I think I read something about the DD-500 and RV-500 both having a Space Echo emulation.
At first I was under the impression that they were different, and that the RV-500 was perhaps more
of a full-fledged emulation? I don't know where I picked up that impression. Probably internet cross-chatter.
Anyhow. I can see both the DD-500 and the RV-500 being incredibly useful tools.

The RV-500 I ordered last weekend already arrived. Other than not being in the condition described, it seems like a winner. The number of ambient and glitchy textures possible is astounding, and I only had the time and mental energy to tinker with presets. I can remark more about the Space Echo emulation after diving more into editing.

Make sure to fuck around with the Assigns, and clips of your results would be nice
Enjoy!

Would love to hear some clips!
And as tremolo3 said, would be interesting to hear some glitch-based Assign-usage for maximal sonic alchemy.

Yeah - but not the new DD, RV and MD engines. I think the MS switchers are running on the COSM stuff still.
But they're still bargains.

MS-3 has GT-100/001/1 derived FX.
The ES-5/ES-8 are extremely fancy switchers (re-order, not just on/off).

That doesn’t bother me one bit

Yep, figured it wouldn't.
If I didn't abuse the ES-8 for all it's worth....I'd have grabbed a MS-3 very, very quickly!

Shit, I think I thought those were one in the same ms/es, and would explain why I didnt know the ms had effects (I had seen the ES prior). If I can’t reroute the loops with the MS, that may be a dealbreaker. Gonna have to do some more research now
