Just finished listening the new sabbath song...i though the intro riff was ok...but then the verse and the rest was just horrible...you sit there thinking its gonna pickup soon...its gonna change...and the song ends...very average sounding song.

I guess because its Sabbath you just have huge expectations...and i guess after this many years the chemistry just isn't there...on the other hand if an unknown band pit out something like this it wouldn't even get any exposure.

It doesn't surprise me in the least that the song is only sub par. Black Sabbath were a great band, but they aren't any more. The only reason people will buy it is because it's Black Sabbath. So many bands, including my favourite example Mastodon, have rode the wave of success. They have tricked listeners into kissing their asses, no matter how shitty they become. Some fans don't buy into it, but the majority do. The Hunter was a pretty bad album, yet everyone bought it and everyone listened to it and almost everyone supported it. If a new band on the scene released such mediocrity, only a few people would buy it and only a few would support them.

You guys know my past dealing with Emperor was a big pain in the ass when talking to them (mainly one asshole who would never put me through to Dylan) on the phone. I'm not even gonna bother getting in touch with them about this because they never made right with their last fuck up after countless hours on the phone with them trying to get it sorted out. I paid extra for Silver Bells and didn't get them.
FUCK THAT COMPANY.

Petras is a joy to work with...I have only discussed pre-production stuff with him and damn is he on the ball...builds pretty much like emperor but at a lower cost. Had him quote me for a 6x12 unloaded, $450.

I have a few buddies using them and the only complaint I have heard is that the stock 3/4" front and back baffles tend to deaden the tone, but you can always request 1/2 for no extra $$$.

Yeah man, I'm right with you on this. The Hunter=brt.
New Sabbath, shmeh. Ozzy sounds like 90's Ozz....which is disappointing. But not surprising.
Who produced this thing?

Also how's your move working out?

conky: that sounds like an epic battle of spoont dude. I'm almost glad it is too expensive to ship cabs down here. I heard somewhere that old mate from bongripper doesn't use his anymore either.

Yeah man, I ain't knocking my first cab or experience buying from them. They were top notch and the reason I went back for more. This last time was a nightmare though.

It's what I'm here for. The lolz.

Yeah those atlas cabs look pretty sexy actually.
I've resolved now to try and get off my pedal buying binge and knuckle down to get this 1x15+10 built. I have a feeling its going to take up more discipline than I can muster though. But I want a fairly simple rig that sounds quality. And one that I can realistically afford and transport.

I really dig those atlas cabs. If i were to buy a cab it would be one of those or one of olde crows, maybe mammoth because hes so close. Right now im too poor so im basically making my whole rig myself piece by piece haha. Finally got my ply for the 2 x 15 now i can start making saw dust!!!

I almost went with Olde Crow, but once I got the price sheet and saw that even with the 20% endorsement deal they were offering it still came out to $100 more than atlas...and I dunno...just didn't seem logical to me, they both have great looking and sounding stuff, but thats a huge chunk saved going with Atlas.

The Mammoth stuff rules too...im almost inclined to go with him because his stuff looks so unique and goddamn does his band Sea of Bones fucking crush HARD.

Sounds really awesome, i've been itching for a dual distortion...I kinda dig the Sunn machine Collossus over this one though...but would be stoked to own either!

I was just sucked into an hour of listening to samples of that company Homebrew Effects, and I have to say they have about the best sounding modern octave fuzz i've heard to date...

So the motor in my truck decided to take a shit yesterday, by the time i got home after work it was knocking so bad it sounded like a Latin Rumba

So now I have to raise up about 5-600$ to get my van back on the road since the truck needs a completely new motor. So I'm going to have to sell my Tele and whatever else I can find :(
