I'm in the middle of writing one of the best beats I've ever written. It's not standard hip-hop, but I think that's what i love about it. It feels like me, and my voice. I'm really happy with it.

I got new speakers for the old record player and it sounds fucking awesome.

1970's record player meets 2012 speakers built by a local dude. The sound quality is superb.

Got a haircut after 4 years, AW MAN SO MUCH BETTER.
No more Cousin It in the shower drain. Showers are also like ten minutes shorter.
Or waking up with it in my face, which is 20 degrees hotter than the rest of my body.
I can roll the windows down without being blinded.
And it doesn't reek of solder fumes the instant I use the iron.
Plus, no more funding 2-foot-long hairs in my food, cool!
Most importantly, no more wizard-looking dudes at yard sales asking me if I like the Grateful Dead, because they have some "sweet vinyl I can show you, bro".
I never want anyone to ask me that again. 'specially not wizards.

...also rewired my bass. I could even put a tiny circuit in there now that one of the control plates isn't in use anymore...there's already a battery door and everything.

i miss my long hair, but it's SO much easier to deal with when it's shorter. no more ten-minute brushing sessions to get rid of the tangles :!!!:

Yeah! No more half a bottle of conditioner per shower!
But...no more hair moustaches either...
Fuck...
It's...still worth it.

My downstairs neighbor revealed at their housewarming party that he collects vintage keyboards and synths and loves to make weird noises.

Today in a text he was telling me he's starting a "hip hop beats - minus the hip hop lyrics - plus doom metal project thing with experimental noise for the winter"

So I have awesome neighbors.

Yeah I was kinda concerned when they were moving in, because he looked kinda like he fell out of Blink 182 and was carrying a bunch of longboards into the garage. But it turns out he's legit and wants me to teach him to solder!
