Yeah man, the external signal in was specifically designed to work with guitars. The designer (not even gonna try spelling his name) was a guitarist and wanted to be able to play synth with his guitar. The general consensus is that it's a bitch to dial in, but nifty.

If I were buying a mono synth right now, it'd be the new Korg mini MS-20.

$600 via all the usual online retailers. I prefer macadamia nut cookies. :)*

Do want.
MS20 should come with a supply of macadamia nut cookies. Korg would sell so much more with that buyer incentive

I did assemble them, but if you click the picture you'll see that the panel's aren't blank. they're made by a small company called grayscale. http://grayscale.info/

Also, no love for the harvestman? :poke: prob going to replace my e350 with the new Hertz Donut once it's out. I've fallen for hrvstmn since buying that polyvox filter, but I got it matching my makenoise

DEVIL WOBS.

i played a show with just a library of congress tape recorder and an axxe into a shiva. the power supply on the axxe was ruff spliced and shorted, blowing the breaker, and sending the room into darkness and silence. i just told people "yeah, that shiva, shit blew out all the shit."

That's just the kind of un-verifiable reputation for destruction and danger I want.

So I finally bought a synth, a minibrute. First unit I received I noticed slightly uneven key. I didn't sweat it, loved the sounds I was getting then I noticed a sound being created by moving the mod wheel other than the modulation changing. Sent it back for another because I didn't pay new prices for a unit with multiple problems. Second unit has a super whacked key, it and a neighboring key can not be depressed properly. sent that fucker back thursday. If the next one isn't playable i'm gonna be very disapoint.

That's really disheartening about the minibrute. They look like great units. And I'd actually prefer them to those new ms-20's because of their better midi implementation. I hope the third one works out for ya :)

Anyone compared the 70's Taurus and the new Taurus 3 side by side?

I know there's some videos, but they're not really that good to be honest.

Also... is the Arturia Mini-Brute sweet? or is there something better I should be looking at?

I had one. It sounded pretty awesome and the features were cool, but I really under-estimated how much I wanted polyphony, or at lest multiple oscillators (but really, polyphony).
