How can you judge qotsa and not have listened to songs for the deaf? That's like the quintessential.

So, I listened to Songs for the Deaf for the first time last summer, which i figured would be a good way to tell whether or not I like the band, and it really didn't feel like anything special. I've been listening to it again for the last half hour, though, and it's definitely better than last time so :idk:

Maybe I'll explore their catalog some more and see how I feel about them.

Tried to like them since they've been around and I just can't get into them, one or two songs sure but overall I find them boring and very very not Kyuss….

I had heard it before when it came out as I worked with many dudes who were into it - never really did anything for me. And now after listening again it was alright, but I still think that other than a few standouts it's still pretty boring.

Yup. I liked it better when he kept his mouth closed.

This did have a large impact on the sound.

And also, John Garcia might be the most annoying frontman ever, even considering how much I adore Kyuss.

Half of you are borderline vomitorium bound. It is not ok to recognize the first the QOTSA records as the best trilogy of albums of any late 90's early 00's heavy-ish guitar-based band ever. And sure, the rest of the albums we just kind of smile and pat on the head like the least-favorite children, but dudes, you're shitting me if QOTSA>Rated R>STFD isn't the trinity of late 90's records. Fuck, I can't even think of another band in a similar vein that good that stuck around for three records.

Comets, maybe. First three Dead Meadow LP's are pretty tits. But as far as Bands People Know(TM) QOTSA is the shit. Full. Goddamn. Stop.

Futuresailors doesn't "get" them either. They're sorta just another contemporary rock band to me. But they're not classic rock, so they have that going.

Cuz I fucking hate classic rock.
But hair metal is cool.

I don't disagree with you, BUT...
COC Arms of God>Wiseblood>Deliverance (I'm not putting Volume Dealer in cause the production ruins the awesome songwriting.
That, or Down NOLA>II.

I've only listened to/own Deliverance as far as CoC albums go. But I'm talking consecutive records, mang. You can't just leave a record out because it sucks. That's completely absurd

NOLLA & II are only two albums. And Down II kinda sucks.

Noted, but if you can get over the crap production on V.D (heh) it makes for a four streak. (I know you're an open minded dude, check out Arms of God if you liked Del.)
Granted that's only two down records, it takes Pepper Keenan's total to 6 for the period 1995-2001. That's solid.
I am really sick of people dumping on Down II.
It's awesome. It's the best one. Period. Doob interlude alone makes it better than anything else released that year.

What I'm trying to say is Pepper Keenan>Homme.

 I wanted to like down more then I did, and I liked it but still Like the "band's" bands more then the super group thing...
three albums in a row.. I can think of 4-5 local bands  the 5th is up in there air cuz I hate all of Pearl Jam's albums… but people seem to like them or something
