After much grief trying to get MF to send me a brand new guitar, they finally came through on the 3rd try. Here is my new Jaguar:

Lots of work to do. I plan on swapping the saddles for Mustang saddles (height adjust, single slot), and then grinding those saddles down so the string spacing is the proper 52mm instead of 55mm. I do not get why Fender/Squier sells Jags with bridges that are too narrow.
I'm going to age the pickguard as soon as the weather cools off. No fake damage, just natural sunlight yellowing. I could buy a mint guard, but I don't really like how those look.
I also have to replace the nut, since the nuts on these Squier VM guitars seem to be made from plastic scraps swept off the factory floor. That is going to be a challenge, since they decided to clear right over the edges of the nut.

I'm not certain, it's nice and comfy to play. The 1448 and the longer scale length 1457 are still both small scale compared to say a fender strat.

Maybe some of you remember, I mentioned that I was refinishing my partner's MIJ jag as she wanted it to look like the thurston moore signature jazzmaster.
wet sanded and polished the body and then rewired everything with cloth wire - restring tomorrow and a setup before we go to rehearsal!
So happy with how it has turned out.
Next step is the maple neck with black block inlays and binding

This is fucking amazing
Kind of wanna book a flight to Melbourne immediately to get you to do this to my jag

That was a little post graduation treat after I helped D move back to PDX. It's a Subway Guitars "Jizzcaster" made from parts from the old Dano plant in Neptune, NJ.

Thanks man! Michigan Craigslist score transacted in a gas station parking lot on an icy cold winter night a few years ago. Flight back to NY was goosed by a crazy blizzard, and I got temporarily stuck in a small airport upstate. Dueted Ring Of Fire and Over The Rainbow on this Silvertone with a cute uke playing redhead to pass the time. Great guitar!

Hilarious. (Sorry for the 10,000,000 replies everyone, but I'm on my phone.)
