I hate my lead playing. it's so conventional.

I get like that sometimes, playing certain styles I can find myself gravitating towards common licks and obvious phrasing and sometimes it's really hard to break out.

Here's some unsolicited advice you've probably heard a thousand times.
Singing what you want to play is a nice trick that can lead to slightly unusual lines because of the different phrasing you use singing.

Sometimes just say fuck it and make noises and see where that takes you.

Try thinking about 'lead' a bit differently; start with the chord progression and just throw in the odd alteration or movement between chords and maybe expand that (or maybe don't, see Wilko Johnson for an amazing player who never really does much pure "lead", he always has the chords down, and yet somehow he plays wonderful solos).

I used to try and think of poems and other songs I could cross with what ever I was doing as a way to free me up from structures or patterns.

I recently saw one of those vice spots and St Vincent and the guy interviewing her talked about actually thinking of really hard core rap, or some other genre to build your phrasing and structures around…it's been really fucking fun doing that, and no one in your band or the audience knows what it is that is necessarily going through your mind, which can sometimes make you chuckle…particularly when there is major contrast with the lyrics that a given song may be had…

Amateur porn is more interesting from the point of view that they aren't necessarily paid or professionals and the illusion that its a "real" sex event that people are actually enjoying is more convincing. Sometimes though, it is a real thing, and it can be way more hot.
Sometimes....just foul.
All porn is exploitation, but I don't really give a fuck anymore.
My wife works nights, I hardly see her anymore.
Right now if porno of her showed up on the internet, I wouldn't even be pissed.
I'd probably be grateful.
