3 hours till the show fuck yes

Today has been awesome so far!
I went to the electronics store where I buy all my stuff. The guys in there have been knowing me since I was twelve... so it's a pretty cool shopping experience
Anyways, I went there to buy a few parts and an enclosure for the Kaoss Pad mini I want to rehouse. So I went to check out and the older dude is like "Hey, need any IC sockets?" and I'm like, "yeah, a few 8-pin sockets". He then went back into the little storage room and came back with a little box full of parts. There were IC sockets, resistors, capacitors, inductors, resistors, etc. in there. He said, that they cleaned out their workshop and just put everything they found in that box. He just gave it to me and was all like "I'd rather give it to someone who uses it, than sell it to someone who throws half the stuff away". AWESOME!

went to Chicago Music Exchange today. HOLY FUCK. after i'd been there for fifteen minutes i told one of the sales guys "you're going to need a cleanup on Aisle 1...my head just exploded."

Also, Shearwater opened for Dinosaur Jr last night, and that was the first time I'd heard of them. Turns out the lead dude is from Okkervil River, AND they're pretty good.

This is making me happy tonight...

Been getting mad hours at work recently.

And this song is so fucking close to being done. I just need some input on what to do to the final mix, and I need to let it sit for a day or two, so I don't get jaded to the track and put something out that's mixed terribly.

so i saw one of the folks in my art class wearing an Earthquaker Devices shirt, and im like "oh hey! EQD!"


turns out he's in Jaime's band. cool.



ALSO toured a neighborhood with my "wife" and best friend since they're gonna be moving there in a week, and i'm probably going to move in next summer hopefully. we found a little bodega with THE BEST beer selection you've ever seen in a bodega. AND they had wild irish rose, too. in short, my booze heaven. there was also a bar that had pumking in pints on draft for 6 bucks, which is like... unheard of. and theres a pizza place open till 2 that makes fuckin amazing pizza, and its a 5 minute walk away. as is basically everything else. it was just this wonderful feeling of sheer optimism thinking about having a place with two of my favorite people in an awesome neighborhood for fucking dirt cheap
