I'm not specifically a weezer fan but I like the blue album more than pinkterton. Just preference I guess.

First 3 tracks are excellent. It goes downhill fast after that.
Why Bother, Good Life, Falling For You - decent, but not close to anything on Blue.
Across the Sea - weird.
El Scorcho - laughably bad.
Pink Triangle - almost as weird as Across The Sea.
Butterfly - Acoustic album closers are wack, always.
The drums sound like cereal boxes. Loads of dumb lyrics. Blue smokes it. Maladroit is comfortably better. I'd pick to listen to Green over it as well. It was panned by everyone when it was released. Opinions changed years later. Their gut instinct was right. Not the romantic revisionism.
Blue has no bad songs. Pinkerton has many. Blue is mathematically better.

I've grown bored with Blue over time. Like, that album is great, but I don't want to listen to it anymore.

Speaking of revisionist history: Pinkerton wasn't panned upon release, it just wasn't heralded as the greatest thing since the Cars the way the first record was.
The idea that anything released by weezer after the turn of the century is worth listening to is hilarious.

El Scorcho's lyrics are pretty cringey, I'll back that at least.

It definitely was panned. It made more than one worst album of the year list upon release. I'd call that a definite panning. I remember reading Melody Maker specifically just before it was released and they tore it a new arsehole. Then my Dad got a copy of it and we were a bit miffed.
Lots of opinions definitely changed over time regarding Pinkerton.
Maladroit is good, though. If 'Love Explosion' doesn't make you want to do a Springsteen knee-slide, you might be a little bit dead inside.

More_Divebombs, I think you won the thread with the most unpopular album opinion. There is something to be said for that.

Bossanova is the best Pixies record.
Even if there's some disagreement, I wouldn't say "Pinkerton is better than the blue album" is an unpopular opinion. Aside from being objectively true, it's a pretty common opinion.

Totally fine with being dead inside.

I wish every Cure song was as pop-y as Just Like Heaven.

Hm. I wish every Cure song was as dark as Fascination Street.

I love THE CURE but my favorite album is the the A Side of 'Three Imaginary Boys'. I don't listen to the B Side.

Just realized that Boys Don't Cry isn't on the Three Imaginary Boys album. Weird.
Also Disintegration wins cause of Lovesong.
