faceplate swappins. found a Magpie Modular panel, which is GOOD because they've been sold out of 4ms stuff for a while and don't look to be doing them anymore.

the knobs are DjTechTools Chromacaps. YAY GLOW IN THE DARK SILLINESS.

4ms does have black DLD panels now, at least in their superbooth rig. I'm hoping to get on of theirs at some point cuz I don't really dig the white panel next to so much aluminum.

I'm annoyed at myself for typing that.

I hope it's good too. :duck:

Otherwise, since nobody would loan me that $1,700 for the frequency shifter, I may have to buy it from you to make it my first module. :idk:

Man, if Marbles had some kind of transpose function, it'd be my favorite sequencer ever.

Turn that Bias knob if you want to change the root of the melody while staying in the same key, or send an offset along with the 1V/Oct signal if you want to straight up transpose scales.

So I've had stages for like 36 hours. I'm not loving it? Don't get me wrong, it's a great design, but I think I don't need to functionality compared to the rest of what I already have. The genius here is that it can essentially replace the WMD MME+Exp that I have twice over with all of the functionality. BUT I can't get the envelope to sound as snappy as I want. Gliss is nice, but I like the slew function on Maths where it can be just up, or just down (not to mention I can program it into the ER-101). You can make 6 drones out of it that track 1v/o, but it doesn't mix together super well.

It can do so much, yet somehow I'm not excited. Gonna keep it a few more days and see if I fall for it...

Yeah the more I've thought about Stages the more unsure I am at how it will fit into my workflow, but I suppose we'll see.

has anyone had a case short on them before? my ep-96 shit the bed at practice a couple of weeks ago and pittsburgh have been poking ass getting back to me. quite a bummer seeing hundreds $ worth of modules just sitting there. had two performances the day after that pretty much relied on it. would have been the biggest shit stick if it happened during the sets

I'm probably going to sell it just because I already have someone who's told me they'll buy it lol

I've had a couple of modules fail from lack of power because a synthrotek power supply sucked, but never worked with a PGH supply. Only thing I have to say is that I've never had any issues with the Make Noise power board I have. I've heard great things about the Malekko board, too.
