circumcision or no?
congrats
It seems that many modern families are choosing not to circumcise their babies these days. There is so much in the way of developed sciences that suggest it's not a healthy tradition to maintain, unless you're Jewish of course. Many will do it to 'fit in', but I can't exactly offer an opinion when it's basically not done at all in Ireland, and is rarely done in the UK where I was born and spent the first seven years of my life.
vidret wrote:AngryGoldfish wrote:Sorry to change the subject, folks, but does anyone know how to plan a workout schedule for home?
Yes.
I've been working out for about three months now and I'm stronger than I used to be and can see a very small increase in my physical form. I want to take things to the next step and quicken the pace at which my muscles are growing and becoming stronger.
I have a five-day schedule that entails:
shoulders and chest on Monday,
exercises? good pairing.abdominals on Tuesday,
an entire day for abdominal work might be a but much
biceps (with cardio supersets) on Wednesday,
entire day for bicep might be much too.
triceps and back on Thursday,
back functions in synergy with biceps, so you might want to pair those together
and legs on Friday.
entire leg day = good boy
Saturday and Sunday are rest days or days or when I work on cardio if I can bothered or have the energy.
kind of like god. What exercises should I be doing first? Should I be mixing muscle groups? Should I worry more about losing the fat and toning up rather than building muscle mass?
You should always be doing:
pushups
pullups
squats
core-work (such as an instable version of the plank or similar)
If you can do hand-stands or work towards that that's also GREAT for core and shoulder strength (you can turn those into shoulder presses with bodyweight later on)
all pressing motions with your hands are accompanied by your triceps, all pulling motions with the biceps, pair them at first.
one leg day, one pressing day, one pulling day - rotate - is my suggestion just seeing what you've written.
Don't ever say "tone up"

Do you know what fat percentage you are at right now? and how do you feel - what would you rather acquire, that's up to you.
whew.
Thanks, mate!
Believe it or not but I used to be quite decent at pullups and chinups, but then I gained 3 stone of weight and could barely do 3 with full movement. My pullup bar is limited (you can't do wide grip or anything like that), and it's currently being used by my mother to hold up a curtain, so that'll have to be remedied.
I'm already doing squats, but I need a bar with weights because they're too easy. I'm pretty sure I have correct form. My knees don't go past my toes and I try to go as low as comfortably possible. I also incorporate jumps on the positive portion of the rep, or I use a dumbbell to add resistance.
I'm doing pushups—10-15 with various different hand positions on my shoulder and chest day, plus whenever I do a Burpee, which I try to use as a warm-up to get the blood pupping and to increase thrusting power and speed. Should I be doing pushups, pullups and squats every single day without fail? Is that overloading the muscles at all or is simply building up endurance?
The abdominal day includes core strength and legs, such as planks and leg raises. The bicep day was supersetted with cardio because I felt it was too much for an entire workout and only took ten minutes. Do you reckon I should combine triceps, biceps and back all in one day and take another day off for cardio workouts like HIIT or Tabata workouts?
My fat percentage is probably pretty high. I'm overweight by about two stone (30lbs), so I think I'd lose a lot of the fat if I lost that weight somehow. As far as what I want to achieve, it honestly changes every week. One week I'll be focused on gaining strength and power, the next I'll want to put on muscle mass, the next I'll want to build endurance, and the next I'll want to "tone up" or become more athletic and lean.
What do mean by this:
all pressing motions with your hands are accompanied by your triceps, all pulling motions with the biceps, pair them at first.
one leg day, one pressing day, one pulling day - rotate - is my suggestion just seeing what you've written.
Do you suggest take one day to work on 'pressing' (Bench press, Dumbbell Flys, Side Laterals, etc.), then take a day to work on 'pulling' (Bent-over Rows, Deadlifts, Biceps Curls, etc.), and then a day for legs, and then repeat without a rest day in between? I hate to seem like I'm demanding specifics, but all this is quite confusing for me and bums me out when it does.
And don't things like Bench presses work on biceps as well as triceps? And what do you mean "pair them at first"? Can you give an example?

DONT ANSWER T-REY!!!
hahahaha nah man your cool, i was just "stirring the pot". It's a decreasing trend and I'm kinda indifferent, I come from a jewish background so I will most likely keep with tradition, but this is something i hadn't thought to much about (since we're 90% certain we're having a girl). If the decision does come up though I will most likely ask the OBGYN what they think is the best decision before making my own.

Fucking hell, did I miss out a lot again.
Well done T-rey, your dick works!
On the note of dicks, circumcision is a religious kinda deal, but doesn't seem to offer any medical benefits. Didn't some kid catch herpes off of the blood sucking part recently?

Yeah, but the bloody cock sucking thing isnt practiced by doctors. If i had a son id likely have the doctors do it right away. That way we matched, also Less pee pee cleaning talks I have to have when hes older...

Oh jesus, ofcourse the doctors don't do that! I just remembered that after writing it.
I don't think it's routinely practiced in any western countries other than America, is it? Babies in Europe certainly seems to keep their foreskins, unless they have a serious case of phimosis in their teen years.

i like my penis hood. why would someone want to cut that off?

The foreskin is great because it stops the penis head from deadening, which means sex is that much better since you have more senses in your mushroom tip. Cleaning was a ball-ache (pun intended) when I was a kid because no one taught me how to clean myself. They failed to teach me about sex and all sorts, but whatever. I learned how to clean myself eventually and now it's something I do every day. It's not a problem or a nuisance. It's habitual by this stage.

WEll its practiced very often here in america. As far as all the men I know, theyre cut, so its simmilar to how the norm in ireland or other places is to keep it. Ive grown up this way and most men i know are similar, its just regional differences I suppose. Plus Id get it caught in my zipper the first day and wish it was gone haha
Also I get to bang hot ladies for longer now that my dong is slightly less sensitive lol. I dont think there really an gigantic difference, theres one for sure but I doubt its life changing.

so way too much to quote here...so here goes with no quotes:
Skip and T-Rey...so i'm only new to this dad thing...my Dylan is only 4 months old. When it came to music we started with classical and just relaxation music as my wife was doing Hypnobirthing (which i highly recommend, if you want more info PM me, happy to explain)...but after a while we compromised and e started listening to Segovia, so i was happy with that. We stuck with that stuff until he was about a month old and i started to introduce JJ Cale, Albert King, some persian folk music, Opeth (Damnation), George Benson...basically anything thats not too harsh.
I just hope he likes good music, and has eclectic taste...but at the end of the day...he'll like what he likes...i can only help direct...strongly help!

On the circumcision thing...we were actually all for it, and were even looking into it just before we gave birth...but when he was born and we saw him and bonded...there was no way i was going to let sharp object near my child!
Dan: on the exercise, from the few years that i use to train, i always did opposing exercises on the same day...my routine as:
Day 1 Chest and Back
Day 2 Cardio and Abs
Day 3 Shoulders and Forearms
Day 4 Cardio and Abs
Day 5 Biceps and Triceps
Day 6 Legs
Day 7 Rest
I got this routine from a guy i use to go to gym with who was training for Mr Australia contest, at the time i was training for professional wrestling, i had dreams of being in the WWF!
Darren: What are you making with all those boards?
And
Nick talking about Jr Dunwich gear...you guys seen these new pedals? Thats an iPhone 5 under the 3 pedals!

Most men who are circumcised aren't blighted for life, but as time goes on and science prevails over religious traditions, people are naturally going to revert to uncut.
