I just bought a new cab, now I have to tweak my settings to get it to sound right.
So frustrating....

Ha. And it's totally true. A Barnacle. That, a Sansamp BDDI, and a Markbass Chorus/Flanger was my first board. It's been a long (yet quick) journey.

Everytime I watch Swingers it gets more and more depressingly true to life.

Like Spinal Tap.

That one's been circulate on the book of faces.

Cute.

Gah,....I want a matching B410NEO soooooofauckingbad.

Avatar prices have gone up considerably. 5 years ago I got my 1st 410 for $400 Brand New Will Call.

Now they are like $230 more,...and I'm not sure if they will call anymore; and if they do I'll probably have to send someone out to get it for me.

That and I have to curtail the musical expenses and let the wife have some fun with our money for a moment.

Avatar is also tempting me with the 412 Bass Cabs they put on the market.

Image

I also really want grill clothe,...which they didn't offer when I got my 410NEO; which means that one will have to be retrofitted,...if they even offer that.

Can't sell the cab it would be replacing along with your SS rig to fund it?

Finally went through my pedal stash and weeded out the ones that I have no use for. Feels good to just list them even if I'm not expecting many to sell. Also been debating whether to list some of my guitars (at least locally) but not ready yet. Or rather I'm happy enough with the rest of my gear that I don't need to sell it to fund something else. Drug addiction aside.

You could just call Avatar and ask, right?

Well,...yeah,....but I'm not willing to talk to them till I'm ready to wheel and deal.

Keeping SS rig for the moment,...

The SVT has been holding up fine,....but I want the SS around in case the tube amp needs to be in the shop for any unforeseen length of time. The only thing I could see is selling the amp to an upright player friend of mine and I don't think he is any position to buy it.

The old Kustom Cab is cheap and old and falling apart. It serving it's purpose just fine, It's just a bitch to haul. I'm not in any hurry to sell it though. Don't think I could get too much for it anyway so I'm inclined to just keep it and mothball it,....Maybe poach the drivers or something.

Looking into it,....Meh on the 412. If it were the diagonal ala Aguilar 412 array maybe. It's a squatty cab. I'm cool with 10's.

i've been seriously considering selling some of my guitars, because i'm not thrilled with them, because i need money, and because i'm at one of those points in life where one wants to get rid of stuff. however, i'm going to wait awhile...i don't want to sell stuff just for the sake of raising money if i don't have to, and i want to wait until i get the Rangemaster that Ian at Ghost Effects is going to make for me. i've been frustrated with my Telecaster, but tonight i ran it through the Hi Five and the Drive channel on the Laney and i was all "now, THIS is what i want a Tele to sound like!" and i suspect the whole gang will acquire new and delightful personality traits with the RM up front.

Yeah not sure I would want a square 412. The diagonal ones look waaaaaaaay easier to move.

I'm the total opposite of you guys. Way back when, I owned two basses, but once I got my Status S2 5 string, I've only owned one and have never really given serious thought to two....I've felt the itch...but nothing where I was close to getting one. Same thing with amps. If I've owned two, it was the selling period while I was waiting to move the old one. Everytime I think about getting a practice amp....eh....I can haul around my rig. I'm young. It's cool.

Same with pedals, if it's not on my board, it's in the classifieds (except for the Poly-grace...my only studio pedal). If I have a pedal that is only slightly different sonically from another pedal, a battle will ensue and the loser is gone. I just can't have money tied up in things that aren't needed. I dunno. Kinda gnaws at me.

In other news, I'll leave you with this.

hee. tiny squeegasms.

urm... i SORTA have 2 amps? i guess? i have a modular setup with four AggieGS 12's at practice and a single GS12 at home, big wattage power amp at practice, little SWR Amp Lite that goes WAY louder than i need at home. more of a tiny duplicate of a larger rig so i can tune pedals towards the same setup.

i want a second Dinger, but i kinda want an AB-2 for the design options, but don't wanna pay the extra for the active stuff. if i get monies set for that i might talk to Mssr. Dingwall about doing an AB-1 on an AB-2's body.

One amp here. I do want another cab though. Last night's concert really showed me that a 210 is great for practice, but without pa support, not much else.
