I just use lemon Pledge.

I have a graphite neck...but I still like to spray just a bit of finger ease on the back of it to allow my thumb to glide all over the place.

I use fried chicken grease.

For what it's worth,....lemon oil and bare maple do not mix,....if that is the sicheeashun you find yourself.

I just leave it, because I have one of those disgustingly bleached mexican fender necks, and the grease and shit is the only thing that makes it look somewhat aesthetically pleasing.

I'm still waiting on a Swell B-PEG, Mountainking Megalith, Line 6 M5, and Badger Schism to get in, the Second Voice is up for grabs in the b/s/t. An OD and fuzz will be in there, soon, too. We'll see who wins the battles.

i don't use any conditioner on the bass except to clean it, because the JB's fingerboard is buffed rosewood with inlaid fret lines and so it doesn't seem to dry out like more porous, less prepared rosewood boards. it seems like bass fretboards are usually better-prepared than guitar fretboards in my experience, perhaps because roundwound bass strings would chew up a fretboard prepared to the standard of a cheap guitar in about forty minutes.

Also, I really got sad when I got my bass set up and they cleaned the layer of grime and blood off of it. Now I have to build it back up.

Nah. I'll post in there once I get things finally sitchyaited. All my peeps be in here. And it's pretty much an all Behndy/DeltaPhoenix inspired board.

I have an unfinished neck on my new tele... already looks like shit after a few months of playing (not even shows) and I've always payed attention not to damage it in the slightest way possible. That thing is like new.. but I should have cleaned my hands before playing... it's not that big of a deal tho, because I can just sand the neck and it's like new again :-)

of course, when i GOT the bass i had to clean what was probably six or seven years of accumulated human scum off the fingerboard. you've tried scrubbing it out. you've tried soaking it out. but you're still left with...GRUNGE UPON THE FRETBOARD
