I had a couple minutes free tonight while working from home, so I figured I'd finally put up a quick clip of my 8-step custom Dubscope. The fuzz I'm using a Tone Machine clone.

nice! that sounds WAY better than the one i had. i got one of the first 5 though. does the tap tempo work on yours? never did on mine. Adam's such a nice guy.

Yeah, the tap tempo works fine on mine.
The reason why this one works better is because I had Adam change it from a bandpass+blend to a lowpass filter, which gives it more of that bassy oomph when filter sweeps down low.
My only gripe about it is that the speed knobs range aren't exactly as I'd want them. The bottom half of the knob ranges are so slow that they're not very usable, and all the usable range is in the upper half. But that's not that big of a gripe, everything else works great.

nice. yeah....... again, mine was one of the WAY first run's, but the knobs at the top each did their own tempo. i expected it to be like a Goatkeeper where each knob was a sub-division of the main tempo. but didn't ever work right.
your's sound purrrrrrrrrrrrrrdy.

I was one of their first customers, and I believe the first bass player to use the wah filter. but I’m not in the club LOL.

hurm. fellow bass twibbling nerdists....... how often do you and how often SHOULD one setup their bass? i only use the Dingwall AB I i have (i just fit an Aphex sticker on it! so gawd damn HAPPY!!) and had the tech guy that works on my instruments look at it when i first got it and add a killswitch. lol, he's the first one that turned me on to Dingers, and i went from a'ight for the money but super low end Dean 6'ers to a Dinger, so he actually did a sorta Yosemite Sam style dance of joy when he took my bass out of the case the first time.
but he looked it over, adjusted the height of the highest string a tad, and that was all that was needed. had him put in a shim Mssr. Sheldon The Dingwall sent when i was having a problem with the C string popping out of it's bridge spot during shows whilst ROKKING, and he did a setup to get it back to where i like it since he had to take the neck off. but that was like a year and a half ago.
seems to stay in tune really well, i'm like half or a quarter a step out of tuning at most when i tune up before playing and it stays in for at least 2 or 3 hours of making musics. this part of Cali is pretty much the same temperature all year with small week long bursts of rain every 3 or 4 months. am i not taking care of this bass properly by not getting it setup on a regular basis?
also, too much serious in a row.
so these.......

..... might be reposts from different threads. but DAYUM they make me happy.

I just do a really basic intonation and string height thing whenever I feel like it...so like every six months, I guess. I don't measure anything, and the string height adjustment is really just "how do I get rid of this fucking clanking" and "is this still comfortable". If the neck looks weird or the action/intonation is off I might mess with the truss rod a little.
So...so I guess you could call that a setup. I have no idea how often most people get theirs setup. I just don't want to give up my bass and pay $70 for some small adjustments.
Although it's really nice when you pick it up from the shop and everything is just right.

Honestly I wouldn't take it in for a setup until you're a bit unhappy with the action or you notice something a little off.

cool. nah, it feels just like it has for the last couple years, exactly how i like it. i don't notice any problems, was just wondering if i'm neglecting it in someway that'll hurt it in the long run.
