well, it's mead. it's more like a wine of sorts, made with honey and fruit.

no worries. there's like ten or twelve of them in a five gallon batch. we followed a recipe for that part. we just modified it with some of the other spices and used our own experience for honey quantity and such.

Thou shalt never forget Unsane, lest thou be bored to death in the elysian fields.

Awesome! I just don't want you to drink the first from the batch only to keel over and die from poisoning! There's only a few poisonous Juniper's out there, and I don't think that they grow on the west coast (from what I just read its mainly Junpier Californus, which is safe to eat and actually the best for food / brewing) but better safe then sorry.

even the safe ones can be rough on your system in high quantities. and we didn't harvest this juniper ourselves. my roomate bought it somewhere, so we should be safe. i love eating wild foods and harvesting things myself, but i'm super careful. i've known more than a couple of people who've gotten sick or had problems due to carelessness and stupidity in that regard.

Read a KWC interview recently where Scott explains their approach to each song as Unsane half as fast. Definitely can see that and love Unsane...however i'm much more drawn to KWC's Vocal style.

Tis true!! Hence why Gin gives the worst hangovers. Awesome that you bought it, you should be fine, if not and you survive the lawsuit would set you up for life! As do I and alot of my friends, and like you I know alot of people that have grabbed from the wrong tree.

i started a thread in the gear forum, but have gotten no replies. not sure y'all saw it, but i'm looking for experience with vht cabs (old fryette vht, not the new shittier vht). i actually have one, but i bought it totally stripped and put in vintage 30's. i like the cab a lot. but i don't know anything about the p50e speakers that came stock in them. something is horribly wrong with one of my cabs and i'm trying to replace it in the next couple of weeks before tour if i can afford to, which is in itself a stretch. i found a vht for what seems like a good price, but i'm curious if anyone has experience or thoughts. my thread is a barren wasteland and i would love it if someone chimed in.

also, thought of you yesterday when we were changing out our latest batch of mead. it's only a month old and it was the first carboy change, but it's already sooo good and it measures at over 16% alcohol already! woohoo! it's a crazy concoction. it has orange, ginger, rosemary, clove, cinnamon, and juniper berries. it was a risky undertaking with all that stuff, but it's turning out great. some of the flavors need to mellow out, but they will over the next six months. our last batch was the best i've ever made, or been involved with making. it was wild huckleberries that me and the lady harvested camping late last summer, supplemented with some blueberries. it's very boozy, pretty dry and fucking delicious. i have high hopes for this batch.

Theres a link in my sig to my facebook account where you can browse my pic albums of some stuff Ive worked on.

That sounds beautiuful man! Great combo, ill have to try some rosemary myself. Ive been shy to use berries so far but i think im going to go for it when the season for them shows up, maybe some blackberry! I also want to do a burnt mead, I forget the term, basically cook the honey till its dark and roasty mmmmmmm.

Also, I saw that post you made earlier. Im so sorry, A mans tools are like a second pair of hands and are priceless. Id be devastated, you can come by and use whatever I got if you need. Also, look for a local woodworkers club, theres one here and they let me buy time there so i can use anything I dont have yet, like bandsaw/thicknesser etc.

I don't know about those specific cabs, but we recently had a few cab issues. We initially thought it was a bad speaker, ended up just needing reglued in some of the joins. Made a HUGE differance in the sounds. Fartyness dissapeared and clarity was restored. I then went ahead and gave some other cabs the same treatment and it really brought them back to life.

facebook and i aren't really friends, but i'll check it out, if it'll let me.

and thanks about the tools. i probably won't com by, but only because Connecticut is really far from Oregon. and fortunately, i wasn't really emotionally attached to anything that got stolen. it is devastating, but mostly in a damage to my livelihood kind of way. at least i wasn't using all my dead grandfather's tools or something. i can buy another table saw and it'll be the same to me as my old one. the only tool i really had on the jobsite that i feel attached to is my hammer. for whatever reason they left my tool belt so i didn't lose that.

Unsane's most recent album was fantastic. I preferred it to their old stuff. The production value is more my cup of tea. But yeah, I prefer Kowloon overall. A superb band who I'd absolutely love to see live, which won't happen until they get bigger.

I have plenty of experience with VHT/Fryette cabs so I'll pitch in.
