Heh, I've learned anything from my father and that's when it comes to them, the more you spend, the better they're going to be. I'm just trying to avoid a huge chunk out of my wallet going the new route.

Re: The talk bass mega bitch thread. (aka Bhendy's Starship)
yah. only "high end" ones i have are some Sennheisers that are like 8 or 9 years old. they were super comfy, had the break away cable and stuff. the padding's all fucked up though. i've been using the cheaper folding ones, HD 280 Pro, for about 5 years for Throw In The Laptop Backpack And Go for doing music stuff outside the house. they're decent. pretty much uncolored, maybe a slight bass bump? but i suck at studio stuff, so i don't sweat going the super pristine, reference quality "correct" route.

Yeah I've been mostly looking at Sennheisers, Shure's and AKG's. I hate hate hate anything from bose, beats, skullcandy and the rest of the brands that every electronic store usually has. I've had my pair of Sony noise cancelling ones for 6 years now, and they are still awesome for mp3 listening, but not so much for anything like trying to practice with. They are really starting to show their age as well with added distortion, limited range, and coloration of the sound. They're not too bad, but I can tell lol.

I use these:

Despite their "DJ" tag they've done good things for me.

So....I'm slightly on the fence about my EXPRESSIONATOR (Deltz has dibs). Actually, I don't have doubts about it....I just don't use the expression options in my pedals much. The Second Voice for sure. I think I will with the Timeline, too, but I've been so busy with other things I've barely had time to explore that, yet. But with the Faye Sing....I kind of prefer the auto setting to the manual....was that way about the Xero D, too. I've considered flipping the Expr. and Moog EP2 I have and just getting a Mission pedal that has the two input thingers.
This is MONTHS down the road when I've finished my fEARful build and have the new band stuff down to a point where I can play around with the expression pedals, again. Just putting some text to my thoughts. The 2nd Voice is on that fence, too. Just and awesome and fun pedal. One of my favorite.....but I can't seem to fit it ANYWHERE in a band setting. Ah well. Way more thought needs to go in to this.

I'll have to look for em without the coily cable though. Instrument coily cables I love, but not headphones lol.

You could just... like...trade your exp. Jack 2nd voice for my non exp. Jack 2nd voice... problem solved.

Expressionator - i didna use expression pedals that much until i got one. the TL has some pretty serious stuff it can do with one, defo give that a go before you make up your mind. i love the Brain Freeze, and it doesna work without an expression pedal...... so for me right now Expresso -> Faye, BF and Xero is an insane amount of pedal toan shifting by foot manipulation. i might be moving the Xero off board and then it'll be Faye, BF and TL. that shit's so hawt.
2nd Voice - i love the 2xVox too, but i get a cleaner more reliable version of the toanz i like out of it with the TAFM -> Faye -> octaver. they kinda duplicate each other, and i like the combo a bit better. doesn't ever do that little pop glitch that the 2x throws in occasionally. thing is a BEAST though. smaller space would probably go over to the 2x.
also just my thoughts. fuck do i know?
now, music silliness for about 3 more hours, shower, then dinner with a friend from High School. she's AWESOME. woot.

ok. i'm a fucking IDIOT. i've had the BEF Pro just sitting here for way too long. i love this thing. it only does electronic style application of filters well, but it's so GOOD at what it does. the Hot Hand opens up all KINDS of silliness.
damn. i didn't like the Multiwave thing at all, and i'm not in love with the tones that Cady gets in his demo's with the BEF, but with a TAFM? fuck.
just........ fuck. hooking up the Heavy Mecah now.

I'm glad to hear you are digging it, it's a really powerful tool. I'm not keeping it on my board right now because I don't need all that functionality for my band but dang if it not my favorite thing to play with at home.
Coincidentally, I stopped by the Source Audio office today (on invitation) since I'm in the Boston area for work the next couple days and hung out with Will and Jesse for a bit and met Bob Chidlaw the head scientist dude. They are some cool, chilled out guys and whether you like their products or not, they are doing some innovative stuff at lower price points than the other digital tonesmiths out there. I think the reverb pedal is going to catch on with the guitar players soon, it's very well done.

Re: The talk bass mega bitch thread. (aka Bhendy's Starship)
The BEF Pro is the only pedal I regret letting go in a while, some I just miss and wish I had a use for. I could be using the BEF Pro in my set-up right now. Granted I have the MuRF now to sort of do more of some of what the BEF Pro does. I need to trade Behndy out of his, but not trade my B3K, or MountainKing pedals...
