The OW sitting on the rug is an original '66 with dots&binding neck and matching headstock (all stock).
The black one is a 2006 CIJ w/ Staytrem bridge and Mojo Pickups.
On the couch, left to right:

- Squier J Mascis w/ Wilkinson Roller Bridge, Curtis Novak pickups (JM-V neck and JM-FAT bridge) and upgraded electronics
- 2008 Thin Skin JM (Factory Special Run) w/ Lollar pickups
- Squier Vintage Modified JM (originally in Sonic Blue) refinished in Lake Placid Blue nitro lacquer (now it has matching headstock) w/ Staytrem bridge and tremolo arm, AVRI tremolo plate, Pickup Wizards pickups, upgraded electronics, white roller pots and circuit switch
All guitars have been properly shielded and grounded.

So glad I'm not the only one with a stickered guitar that looks battered to hell! Also, Kudos on the Deadpool sticker

I have a Deadpool tattoo because I'm a massive fucking nerd.
Anyways, here's my two (currently renovating a third);
My stickered one is wired up with a Seymour Duncan JB, with a killswitch & push-pull volume pot for coil tap. No tone control whatsoever.

I know right? I've never used a tone control, so when I'm hacking a guitar it's always the first thing to go! I might try putting a varitone control on a project though, just to see if I can be swayed...
And thanks! It's an absolute beaut to play, it's made by Washburn called an HB32. I'll admit I wasn't sure, but the distressed hardware sold me on it

Considering doing this with my tele. I've already decided that I want a Custom pickguard for it to make room for other wiring that I wanna do, and a varitone seems like a cool idea to try out. Just gotta figure out where to get the stuff needed to make one.

Guitars are tools ultimately, if it doesn't get beat to hell eventually THEN THERES NO LOVE GURL.
Umph, nice set up man.

In terms of resources, I've found this guys site to be the best and clearest on doing it
http://www.diyguitarmods.com/custom-varitone-wiring.phpAs for parts, most of it's easy enough to get. Plenty of online electronics retailers do a 5 position rotary switch. In the article above, he suggests a fender no-load pot just so you can remove the tone control from the circuit entirely, but it's not really a necessity. In one of his other articles, he suggests using a push-pull pot for the tone, that way you simply switch it on and off.
Caps are easy enough to get depending on what ones you want to use. Personally I wouldn't bother getting super-mojo-vintage-rare ones, because you might as well get ones that are easy to replace if needs be. Near the bottom of the page there's also a demo on how the caps will sound, which is super useful.

Definitely, this is the view I've always had. I don't understand people that buy monstrously expensive guitars and keep them in a cabinet 51 weeks of the year.
If it's made to be played, then goddamn it, play the hell out of it!
Thanks man, same on yours!
