In most ways, he's very good about letting me find my own way in things overall...every now and then tho, he gets a little twitchy about stuff and needs to be reminded (by his own admission0 that there can be more than one way to do something.
man..... i've had like 5 different people i've tried taking lessons from.... 3 of them were horrible, like they wanted $40 an hour to watch them show me how good they were.... 1 was decent but would not listen to the fact that i had no interest in learning to read, and the other was awesome. he plays mostly Jazz and is more of a theory and music relationship teacher, but he plays a 6 predominantly and tailored his original lesson plans to that, stripped out steps to make a 4 or 5 string version. was refreshing learning from somebody that used the same instrument and actually LIKED that version of the bass.
only problem was that he wouldn't really pay attention to how little i told him i know, and i was in a place where i was going, doing almost no practice/homework on my own so the next step meant way less than it should have to me.
hurm. in a way better place now to do work at home and i'm starting to feel the holes in what i don't know (almost EVERYthing) poking through since my singer/keyboardist actually knows what she's doing.
"neat. is that in B minor?"
"urrrrr....... i dunno. it's got a B and urm.... *tap tap tap* a F# and a C. wassat?"
good idea Muddy! think i'm going to get at him about starting up again! thanks!

I do not regret the money spent on lessons at all, and especially after hearing some of the prices some instructors will charge (I pay $75 a month; lessons are supposed to be 1/2 hr a week, but since the person after me in the schedule flakes off a bunch, my time will go 45 minutes, an hour, sometimes longer).

Holy geeze. Trip Wamsley is like a god is some bass circles and he charged me $20. Half the time I wanted to quit from seeing how good he was, though. Haha. But he knew how to teach. Still helps me out when I need advice. Great player. Awesome mentor.
Deltz has vidz?

I was pretending that I was Klanky the Bass Player that Warwickah posted.
I'll chime in on that I tap my foot for very repetitive triplet into 1/8 notes back into tripelet stuff, kind of so simple it is hard type stuff.
I pretty much only slap at home, so I may do that time keep thing a bit, but it is a snare drum in my head if I do. But I do believe in the power of rests. If I am fuzzing and chording out I may mute and strum, but that is cuz I am Metal Son and it isn't one note to keep time, it will be a rhythmic fillish thing. But yeah overall, I have a really strong sense of timing, I used to practice with a metronome a lot. Luckily my drummer is solid. I do bob my head a good amount or headbang if the tunes allow.

I plan on doing a demo for the NerFuzz while roles through on the tourbox. By the way it has started for those of you that are on board for that.
Actually there is some videos of me playing with my band on Youtube, look up Capture the Rapture. Some of the audio is kind of blah...The one with the best audio "Disguised as Sunsets" is with our lead singing instead of usual singer, and we had just wrote the song...but I still like the video. Fuck it, I'll grab the link.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPXqykISbcsThe dude dancing up front is awesome! He does it the whole show. Headphones on and enjoy.

Thanks!
He has been at a few. Andy is a nice guy. He had worn everybody out at that point. We had a bunch of people Dancing with him for several songs. Good times...

When (not if...WHEN) I get a band position, I hope we have our own version of Andy.

It would appear that Andy has no bones in his arms. He seems hilarious and awesome.
