Not necessarily a bad thing.
That's kinda what I was thinking. For this musical project I'm working on such an unruly beast might be perfect. But I can't seem to find any anywhere...
Dude, the Echo Dream is absolutely badass! I think that first run was limited but they'll be releasing more. DBA is collecting some feedback, deciding if the design should be tweaked. Oliver got in touch saying he'll take care of the original pedals if they decide on any redesign or updates. I'm thinking fuzz volume is coming.....
The first one I received had a couple issues (LFO tick being the worst) but the replacement is good to go. It really needs a volume control for the fuzz as opposed to the toggle. The lower gain setting is manageable but the high gain is like 100x over unity, fucking nuts! I actually use one of my ODs after it to tame the volume back.
The delay/mod is where it's at though, incredibly unique sounding. It can go from a nice, reverby slap back to the most whack shit you've laid ears on. The mod is super cool, does a weird pitch bend/appregio thing that can be subtle at slow speeds and insane at fast. The wet setting is tops too, run it pre-fuzz and it reminds me of a Pitch Pirate Deluxe/Polychorus/Rainbow Machine mash-up. I've never heard anything quite like it. If the fuzz gets situated, this will be the first DBA that's both awesome yet not ludicrously overpriced. I mean, low and high gain fuzz, delay, whacked out modulation for $320 is a pretty fair deal. For DBA I mean.........
Oh, and it's sexy a shit.

Want a compressor now for a few reasons, for my clean tones, for a little extra sustain with my fuzz and for use with the Snazzy FX Mini Ark. My guitar isn't the best so I'm sure that's part of the problem but the sustain with on higher strings with the Mini Ark is pretty bad. I've also heard a compressor can help the Ark track even better.
So right now I'm debating on saving up for a week or two more for a comp of some kind or saving a little longer for that 8 string in the b/s/t

I've been window shopping for a compressor myself. Have any particular model in mind?

I don't have a comp... and don't really need one.
But... the best one to try is the Diamond Comp.
It will not suck your tone.

I've looked at Diamond for sure. I've also loved what I heard from the Empress comp (though it's a bit more expenisve) and the Wampler Ego Comp (like the mix feature on it). Oh and I've heard good things from the Mad Professor FGC as well.
Those are what I'm looking at I guess

Though it looks like the Empress is the most flexible and looks the best (in my opinion), I don't know if I need all the features it offers. I just need a moderate amount of compression for some extra sustain, no super squished tones or anything.
