Some nice BOOBIES right there...

I was worried that I let myself get caught up in some TB hype recently. Traded JWAR for his B3K. I had one before and didn't love it, thought it was pretty good but not worth the money. I was using an Ampeg SVT 3pro at the time.
I played for all of band practice yesterday except for maybe 2 songs. Fuck it sounds great with my Orange amp!
I bought a Zoom B3 for cheap, $170, on Friday. I was skeptical, but I kept reading good stuff about it, heard some clips that made me go hmm. I have sold a bunch of gear lately but also bought a lot and made some huge trades. I know I can't spend anymore big dollars on gear for awhile. I feel pretty good about most of my board but just wish I had a few extras. The Zoom B3 seeems like it is going to fill the gaps nicely. It arrived today and I played it for about 45 minutes. Enough to hear what it can do, and mess with the interface. This is a super easy multi to learn, make patches, and save them on. It reminds of a Yamaha Bass Magic Stomp crossed with a Line 6 M9 with some cool stuff that neither of them have. The synths are usuable, the filters seem pretty good. octaver and pitch shifting, bit crusher, slicer, and all of the other normal stuff and a tuner. I don't care about amp sims or drive effects although I have heard the amp sims are good for adding more EQ control to a patch. The synths track pretty good, lots of wave shape options. It doubles as a USB audio interface, has software for computer editing, a D.I. as well. Of course a few drawbacks like all multis have, not as many parameters to control with an expression pedal, one parameter per effect. 3 effects max per patch, although I think that is enough for me because I have my other pedals, maybe if this was all I was going to use that would suck.
All in all, a super bargain to round out a board for effects that are used in one or two songs only.

yah. i like a lot of what i've seen with the B3, it's the Only Control One Parameter With An Expression Pedal that kills it for me. otherwise i'd pick one up to play with. they DO seem neat though.

Yeah, it isn't a deal killer for me. I figure some of the synthy stuff will be run into the MuRF. I don't see myself needing expression on a chorus(used on 1 or 2 parts of songs), One parameter should be sufficient for me on the bit crusher or slicer. I can work with it. It just seems to complete my board better than a M series. TimeLine has the delay covered and that is where the M series edges out the Zoom but the Zoom actually has some pretty cool delays. I really wanted something that could do several base synth sounds that I can manipulate with MuRF, Faye Sing, and TimeLine. The detune type chorus, bit crusher, slicer sent the B3 over into the win for me...plus so cheap...

2nd from last appears to have a drug habit or eating disorder. Someone give this poor creature a sandwich.

Are ya'll talking bout the new Zoom B#? I seen it and it looks like a pretty decent multi and a good alt to the M9. USB interface makes me interested. Probably a good reason it to have amp/cab sims on it.
