I know that storm is headed our way,....how much did you all get on the coast?

I know how you all love to freak out and shut down when there is a 1/4inch of snow on the ground. :poke:

I had a boss want me to come to work when there was 2 feet of snow on the ground and it was still coming down. Fuck that guy.

we've had about 4-6ish inches so far and there are saying 6-10 more tonight, it hasn't stopped yet. See the issue out here is it isn't that cold so you get all this slush everywhere that freezes at night and turns everything to muck in the daytime. Also cuz it only snows like for a week once a year out here plows and shit are spread thin.

here is my view out my window..

Is that a realtor sign in the middle of the woods or is my phone just messing with me?

Or a spook?

I see no sign,...nor ghost.

Fun Fact,....A Spokane past time is to turn on Northwest Cable News during a snow storm and laugh at the Seattleites loosing control of their cars on hills, crashing through intersections and into parked cars.

Seriously not rocket science here. Lower gear, ease up and slow down and do not for any reason touch your brakes; except to perhaps stop at a stop sign or light (if you are going slow enough it shouldn't give you any problems).

a continuing entertainment here in the Santa Cruz Mountains/SF Bay Area is when the first rain of the fall comes, seeing how many people have forgotten how to drive in the rain since last winter. sure enough, regular as clockwork people go rocketing off the curves on CA 17 in their BMWs and SUVs, even though water is no more wet or slippery than it's ever been

Compulsory Military Service: as good a reason as any to sabotage your own health.

Seriously

Yeah, I thought about that... but the thing is that it is against the law.... that means you'll get a note in your register that will show up everywhere someone researches something about you... like... when applying for a job or something.... so yeah.. it's bad.. stupid law... well... off to the military health check tomorrow...

The common theme that I see in the Seattle vid is locked up wheels,...which means the driver has slammed on the brakes,....do that and you have absolutely not control.

To be fair and to take my lumps this vid is from Spokane.

About a 50 seconds in,...there is a guy in what appears to be a Ford Fusion that has the right idea. You are gonna gain momentum going down a hill (I have a manual so I have a little more control over that with engine speed),....but he doesn't freak out and slam on the brakes. That driver fucking owns it down that hill.

Torn between the urge to start over with writing for my band/project and the need to get it out into.. um, wherever it is that music goes. I don't know if this song I've started is heading into "stereotypical sad song" territory or not. An attempt at honest lyrics seems to be leading down that path, too. Writing music is fucking hard.

the whole idea of being told "don't have or express this opinion because someone else doesn't like it" pisses me off. i'm not sure whether the "bitching about" thread becoming a meme/circle-jerk is more irritating or amusing.

And yet, you expressed your opinion several times, nothing happened, and you're still complaining.

How about that.

But it is in protest of SOPA for just one day which makes it understandable. As much as I use Wikipedia all of the time. I just absorb random information like a sponge and will just read one article until I find a link in the article that I find interesting and just keep going and a series of endless tangents.

Speaking of tangents, can anyone remember what that one page you're supposed to always come back to if you click on the first link in any page and keep doing that?
