Turns out my student loan payments will start in March if I'm not enrolled in college, not October like I'd thought. Now I have more money than I thought I would for a while.

Every Freeze I've tried has done that. Makes me sad because it's such a fun pedal.

Might have a chance to join a ska-punk band. Not my favorite genre but something I really enjoy playing. And it would be a welcome break from being the task master for my other band.

Axe and you shall receive. The Girlfriend took this one in front of the polka dot shower curtain:

Crappy cellphone pic of right after my friend Steve cut it, before I had a chance to shave off my beard and sideburns:

Edit: I should post this in "LEt's See You" thread but whatever.

Jamming with the guy I found on CL went really well yesterday, and he's coming down again today to play some more. Hopefully we can work out some rough song formats, now that we've found a way to loop in a way that sounds right.
Also, I registered for classes today. 4 online courses at 13 credit hours. ~8 credits behind my goal, but maybe it'll be enough that I can transfer, if I do well :\

I requested 4 or 5 books on Buddhism a few months ago, and they just arrived at my parent's place. The best part, is that I received many more books than I originally expected to. I got 8 of them, some of which are smaller texts, but still. I'm really happy about this.
I'm going to start reading them now, before I go to sleep.

Definitely! I've been trying to practice for months, but I never had any of the literature.
Here's a list of what they sent me:
- The Sutra of Buddha's Bequeathed Teaching+The Enlightenment Sutra with Annotations+The Sutra of Fourty-Two Sections
- Stress Management Through Buddhist Meditation
- The Buddhabhasita Dasbhadra Karmamarga Sutra
- In One Lifetime: Pure Land Buddhism
- Releasing Life: An Ancient Buddhist Practice in the Modern World
- Phat Thuyet a Di Da Kinh/Buddha Spoke the Amitabha Sutra
- The Lotus of the Wonderful Law/Saddharma Pundarika Sutra, Miao-Fa Lien Hua Ching
- The Diamond Sutra (The Diamond Prajna-Paramita Sutra) The Annotated Second Edition
- Mindfulness in Plain English
- Pure-Land Zen Zen Pure-Land, Letters from Patriach Yin Kuang
Again, a couple are smaller pamphlets, but still. It's a fantastic haul of information.

I always preferred the viewpoint of Alan Watts, cuz he kinda avoided the doctrines of Buddhism and just presented the most useful information IMHO. I always kind of strayed from any writings that weren't directly associated to the source of the philosophy, cuz most good philosophies tend to get transformed into religions/doctrines/dogmas for some reasons, and that's the point where I stop caring about what they say. I may just have preconceptions, but idk, worked for me perfectly so far.

Do share your thoughts when you go through it. I'm fairly interested in the content.

Will do. I think it's good to understand the foundations of any ideology before subscribing to any secularized view of those concepts.
So far, what I've read from The Sutra of Buddha's Bequeathed Teaching is very interesting. Lots of concepts condensed into small segments. It will take a while for me to be able to digest the information enough to retell it, haha.
