Has anyone ever looked through this thread http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f32/chick ... es-815151/

It always cracks me up to see this shit on TB. Makes me think they are all dirty old men playing country and blues and whatever shitty music they dig.

How old do you have to be to find the ones they post attractive? I don't want to get that old.

I guess I'm still an "older women" kinda guy. :idk:

So, JWR, good news on the Swell front. I caught Mike soon enough to change my order. The B-Drive is what I was goona get, low gain, and would have been obsolete. I can now change it to something with more gain and more useful to me. Still thinking the B-TOD is too much gain....so it's either a B-Pro (Swell voicing) or a B-PEG (Ampeg modeler). Both are mid gain. I've always preferred other characters to the Ampeg sound....but to have it in a pedal might be cool....and it might be easier to resell if it still doesn't make the cut.....more of this: :idk:

I really, really like the B-Pro. I leave it on all the time. It's the only pedal I've ever wanted to do that with. Of course I have the version 1, so not real sure what I'm missing in the later versions. It's an awesome pedal though and thickens the crap out of your tone.

Sousie - zoom! SUMMATION!

tinyEquestrian - if you didna dig the Prometheus, you probably won't dig the Deluxe. i was SO DAMN WET for one when it came out. all the filter shape and lfo options are hella rad (i've been watching snarky reviews of EXTREME 80's movies. deal with it), but i didn't like the way the filter itself sounded. and there's a fixed blend dipswitch inside you can turn on, but i THINK (looking at the pics online backs me up) there's no overall volume control. that's just..... weird. it's sweeping HARD through lows and highs of a resonant path.....

i've always felt no matter how much neat stuff a filter does, it's kinda useless on bass if it j
doesn't have a blend and an overall volumd. i liled the Aggy twin filter, but that killed it for me.

yay! i'm a Pedal Party Pooper!

Yeah, the volume level was fine. The only problem I had is that I found that it got a bit farty when I hit the lowest notes (like from low C down to low A), but I think that was my cab farting out, not the amp. It definitely sounded like speaker fart to me. It's not totally unexpected, it's not like its a great cab (carvin 410). I might need to upgrade to a nicer cab at some point, and maybe move to a 212 or something.

That's an awesome enclosure. But my god, how do you tell what the knobs do when you're toasty?

01) thing is beastly, but i'm gonna be leaving it in the same setting pretty much all the time, and defo all the time for live stuff.

02) i already have enough issues with reality as it is. don't get baked or drink.

03) I AM SO OK WITH GETTING MY FACE ALL UP IN IT'S BIDNESS.

+1

I would have a hard time running my pedals hammered. I would have hard time period.
I used to have all of these rules. 2 beers before the set starts max, at 3 my timing would ever so slightly get off. But after the set started I could drink as much as I wanted. Weed was fine before hand as long as it wasn't right before I played. Just enough Heroin to not be sick,etc....

Much easier now.
