No, I believe dog is scary stuff in this instance.

And I bet if you ask the dog's owner, they'd still say, "Oh no, he'd never bite anyone!" :wha?:

Ugh, I hate that. My mum got bit on the leg by a dog a few years back and it got infected, and it all turned out fine but the owners didn't do anything when my mum told them they should keep their dogs controlled (this happened on a public footpath through a farm).

No, he won't bite you, that's not to say he won't bite anyone else. See: Rottweiler.

I had someone say, "Oh, he don't bite." Right after the dog had gone for a chomp out of my ass. It's hard to tell how much of a real bite it was because my wallet was right there. Either way, pizza delivery guy and large aggro dog are not a good combo.

I certainly don't think all dogs are going to bite you, but they ARE going to bite you until they know better.

I hate the drinking age in America. It's making it impossible to find a band. I HATE being under 21, too. :/

Re Dog Bites,....

We had a friend over who was a "dog person". She was informed multiple times that our Min Pin was abused by her former owner and was unpredictable,...not to mention that a result of that abuse was a chipped fang that is insanely sharp.

She is this type of person where she wants all cute dogs to love her and despite being warned multiple times not to push the issue and wait until the dog warms up to her the last thing she did upon getting ready to leave was suddenly bend over and put her face in the dog's face (I don't I guess she wanted to give the dog a kiss or something). Needless to say the dog's reaction was to bite the shit out of this girls eyebrow.

She needed stitches and wound up in the ER and to her credit she was a trooper throughout the whole deal. She even refused to fill out the address and information regarding where the bite occurred. Unfortunately she had to relent when animal control/SPD started calling her wanting that info. We just told her to have them call us and it turned into a lot of stress, not knowing whether or not the dog was going to be taken from us.

The reality is that animal control was less interested in whether or not the dog was dangerous and more concerned about the potential for rabies and needed to know where the dog is so that they can seize her in the event that the bite victim did in fact come down with rabies. She was forced onto a 10 day quarantine which was fine considering she isn't an outdoor dog. The fact of the matter is that there hasn't been a human rabies case as the result of a dog bite in Spokane County in decades.

While it turned out to be a molehill it really pissed me off that despite being warned several times about the unpredictability of our dog,...this girl didn't listen to us and put us in a position to potentially lose a beloved (albeit damaged) family member. The lesson learned is that if we can't control the human we have to then remove the dog from the situation.

The point is,...that dogs are dogs and they don't know right from wrong. You can change a dog's behavior but more often than not,...it's the dog owner's behavior that needs to change. People want to believe that their dogs are perfect angels (kinda like parents and children) and don't want to think that their dogs might be damaged either by their doing or a previous owners doing. People need to realize that this isn't the reality.

This is most of what I want people to realize. Also, some people don't want your dog jumping all over them when they walk in the door; be a good host rather than sitting back and laughing.

Dogs' energy bothers me. I'm just too mellow to go for that.

Ok, I think that's enough grumpy-grouchy for today.
