It's easy because I am the only living human being who has actually read it. Noone will contest your musings about it. Not even me, I forgot most of it.

Part of what makes Ulysses so hard to bullshit is that, if you've actually read it, talking about it is very easy.

Half of it hit me like a horror story from my childhood: stuff I've heard of, but was always too afraid to seek out. Now we're supposed to go mingle with everyone and I want to curl-up and hide.

But treating it like a job is good advice.
Now go mingle. You have to mingle in real life, so just consider part of the job description.
"Have you read Moby Dick?"
"Yeah, it's gay as hell."
I laughed so hard at this because I frequently find myself describing things as gay as hell when in the lab I work at.

Don't come crying to me when you've been stove-in by a whale.

Just talk about your favorite eating onomatopoeias?

For the past month or so I've been watching The Rifleman almost every day it comes on.
So much better than any other old western show.

Study questions:
"Would Stephen Daedalus be trying to escape history if he got laid more?"
"How did Leopold Bloom walk so far with turn of the century footwear?"
Required reading:
June 16, 1904; A Treatise on Epitaph (in epigraph).
James Joyce; Genius, or Jeenyus?

I don't know why I argue bigoted, islamaphobic, homophobic, xenophobic arseholes online
It feels satisfying at first but I always get so upset

I randomly got linked to the subreddit for tall people and after scrolling through a page, figured I'd check out the one for short people.
r/tall is mostly just random junk.
r/short is so insecure I giggled the whole time. Lots of "heightism" threads.
