As expected, Strymon debuted their first plugin today. The virtual BigSky will run you $200, but there's a 7-day free trial. Personally, I like this much more than a hardware pedal for nearly $500---easier to navigate & much faster to save/recall presets.

Hell yeah! ...should I sell my hardware Moogerfoogers now & buy a house?

$149 gets you all 7 MFers. ($249 after intro offer) I'm really pumped to be able to stack these in a DAW & finally save settings with something other than a pencil. Being able to stack 3 Murfs in series...5 delays in series & parallel...stacking 2-3 RMs in a row....I imagine the software Chorus/Flanger will also be slightly quieter than the noise from the physical pedal, which could be a bit excessive.

Shout out to echorec for posting so much great stuff in here and adding a bunch of awesome plugins in amongst the usual pedal stuff. Thanks a lot, buddy.

Tempted by those Moog plugins. Hopefully they'll be on sale for a minute cuz I'm kinda broke right now.

Why does the Minifreak have piano keys, were the tactile thingies not great on the Microfreak?

They were pleasing enuff IMHO, but I believe the first shipped iteration had some mis-firing issues that was corrected on firmware updates. Also, lots of people complained that they weren't "real" keys, so I suppose that (along with probably supply chain issues) had something to do with the Minifreak looking so stale in comparison. I'd also imagine the far-out reach they were going for with the Micro was not welcome post-pandemic, as I guess people just wanna be boring? I have a theory that the smaller the synth, the more serious it has to appear as to be taken "seriously" (as well as prix-wise), but I would probably have bought more Volcas if the controls were labeled "Stink" and "Butt" and had 4th/5th party emojis (where's Don Bluth these days?), instead. Instead, I'm wondering how cheap that 4-deep stack of Microfreaks in the corner of my local Guitar Center's Used case I saw last week will be in five months, but I, sadly, already know the answer.

According to Plugin Boutique, that price is going to be good for the rest of 2022.

If you want to start using them, there's a 7-day trial available directly from Moog.

For $2,500, you can own a modern Synclavier that can produce 12 simultaneous timbres. :!!!: Original co-founder Cameron Jones is still a part of the design team.

I imagine a lot of people saw the new DBA Exploding Head already, but here's a synth demo & Ian's offering anyway. It's my understanding more will be produced, but the initial merch bundle is sold out.
