Strange Tales wrote:lordgalvar wrote:Strange Tales wrote:How would you compare the Tonal Recall to the In Limbo II?
I thought the In Limbo II was more traditional sounding, but had some neater modes that the chase bliss can't do. Probably a hair darker and rounder sounding too. But it sounded awesome. I didn't really get to hear either for too long. I liked how the in limbo kinda sounded better, but you know, I didn't have them head to head. (And really get to see someone mess with the full range of DIP on the Chasebliss). I dunno, for the features, unique modes, and the way I like delays, I think the In Limbo's features Plus it is significantly cheaper). The Chasebliss did sound nice and cutting though (like I said, I only heard it briefly though...).
That's fair, I'm just curious at all since I just bought an In Limbo II because the CBA price had my head spinning. The dip switches are always a game changer, but I enjoy the modulation section of the In Limbo a ton more. Good to know you like the In Limbo more, even if you only heard it a little. Super excited to get mine in the future.
Hahaha, sorry about the typos

too many things happening at once (like 4 real estate agents dropped by while I was typing to talk me out of my house haha...I told one that I'd be ready to sell when I was 6 feet under...did it with a twang too...then started talking baseball...Thank the P+W Lord that he wasn't a Red Sox fan...). You can kinda read the interruptions haha.

Waiting to see whether the Ibanez is an actual analog delay or.....
and whether it has any headroom hooked to an adapter.

Yea, I am really curious about that too. I kinda wonder if they just bought some cool audio chips or maybe paid Maxon to make them a little analog chip. The only mention of them that I saw was that little glass case which was kinda lame. I always thought Ibanez were bigger players and I thought they would go for a bigger booth. Ernie Ball and Rickenbacker both had the same sized booths as Ibanez...maybe they just didn't think they would see the return on investment?

Did some digging about the Wren & Cuff stuff. Aside from the Sonder, the other two new pedals are dirt.
From Premier Guitar:
"Irkally - a distortion/fuzz that aims to preserve low-end articulation for down-tuned riffs - and the Elephant Skin. The latter was designed for Mastodon bassist Troy Sanders and is essentially Russian Muff-style fuzz with an added gain stage."

Sweet! Thanks Chankgeez! It was kinda hard to sneak in and eaves drop sometimes haha!

Ibanez isn't a bigger player in the US market is the thing, so they don't chase us very much. Don't think they've ever gotten over the squashing they got vs. Roland in the 80s, nor probably will they ever.

Well, they seemed to be more active in talking to the people out there looking for ideas to move the brand from what I saw. But, man, that is hard to believe that they are so down in the market. Almost everyone I grew up around got an ibanez first (and I know a ton of players in CA that swear by Ibanez...which is whatever haha).
Here is the Lightning Wave/Bear pedals. They are digitally controlled analog. The Doom is a filter (much like a wah), the Ghost is a trem, and the astro is a 6 or 8 stage phaser (modular design). The waveforms are user defined for the modulation LFO (via step sequence with depth, length, time and stuff (I believe) and can be very long and complicated). Each one has 5 presets. They also have 0-5v CV connection for changing the rate via other CV gear (like source audio reflex, copilot broadcast, modular stuff, etc.) So you could do ENV control out of a moogerfooger, LFO from anywhere, etc. Really freaking awesome. The oscilloscope is just there to illustrate. I think they can all go to near "ring mod" speed as they say haha.
Anyway, here is the video...was really hard to hear because of shredders and slap and poppers, but I did the best I could (microphone on the phone points the wrong way):

Lightning Bolt was also an awesome product from Lee at Lightning wave. They are replacement knobs that let you change the color and turn on an off a flashing indicating LED for seeing knobs in the dark. They have like 120 hours of run time are have really easy battery replacement. Really awesome idea and look cool as hell:

Serious thanks to Lee for letting me hang out, check out the pedals, and just make it an awesome NAMM. Talking/kicking it with him and his sister and his pedals/knobs were seriously the highlight of NAMM for me.
Time for a break...converting all this stuff to forum size takes a while haha (should've just setup a batch converter..oh well.)

That new Dewarnatron is rad, a Swarmatron is high on my "probably never but I wants" list.
Can 2016 be the year of the ribbon?

Maybe...with all the modular people offering the touch controllers, it sure seems like it. The Dewarnatron and Persaphone are both on my version of your list haha! Man, they are crazy expensive.
Def. not the year of the ring mod. haha. Not many around and the only real new one I saw that could be used standalone was in the 4046-m PLL. So, yea! Totally on board with it being the year of the ribbon!

I know...it honestly seems more like the year of mod delay so far.
Last year was pretty well defined as the year of the flanger though...We shall see I think in the next few months...
I guess I am ok with ring mod still kinda being where it is at.
