I had one for a while. Its a pretty good fuzz for the price. Synthy octavey brassy fuzz, and the squish knob does some cool stuff to it. I kinda want to try another one, actually.
Neonblack wants a pedal back that he used to have. Must be a day ending in "y".

also interested in this. From the demos I've seen it seemed quite... envelopesque. Is that a fair assumption or can it also do tighter attack?

It gets really tight with the squish down, and then does that really cool envelope thing with it cranked.

You don't have control over the gain though, just the fuzz volume and clean volume.

It's set pretty perfectly though, IMO.

BTW, the reason I want to try older pedals all the time is that I made some big life changes in the past year.

I went from playing a 4 string bass through a cheap solid state amp to playing a Bass VI through a gnarly tube amp. So I know everything is going to sound better than it did before.

word. can't judge a pedal properly with a shit amp. finally got to crank my v4 with the band yesterday and I feel like my whole life has been a lie *o*;

cheers man :) interesting

whatever thing - I'm downsizing and it's harder and harder to figure out what's wrong with the setup :lol: there's still something that's not as it should be... and it might actually be multiple things :( maybe I need a bigger re-start

ps: not talking bedroom playing. Literally talking only band context, both practice and live

Yep, that's the thing, things I think are cool practicing through a small am have failed so many times with a band [Devi/DBA/EHX being the worst offenders]. That is why my always need lineup [Dirt, comp, filter, trem phase] doesn't change much once I find what works: my first live board [Dunlap wah > bassballs > ODB3 > boss EQ > TR2 > phase 45] did not change much for 5-6 years.. I was still buying and selling pedals but nothing stuck… then I got sick of how everything sounded and started over about the time I found my way over here the first time.. I tried a bunch or pedals… and once I found the Katana sound SBF, moog filter and phaser and the Demeter comp… very little have changed really… [except for a FUTILE battle in finding ANYTHING that would do things as well as moog in a smaller size] I always have a few extra dirt boxes I am messing with [although I've been happy with the sobbat BDB for a few years now].. only "big" change I have really made was the moog trem which I got for the exp control and well it's kind'a badass :idk: so what? so… I say really focus on your most important sounds you need, that you use on the most songs, really think about if you really need a lot of colors of the same thing or you can do most of what you do with one of each.. rehearse/gig with them a bit.. and see what lasts…

I think I am pretty happy with the concept of three dirt boxes - OD, nastier fuzz, massive fuzz. I'm just not sure I've been using the right ones. Sure I can easily play a lot of music with those and it sounds good, but it's just not "really there" I guess. However, i have hard time pinning sounds in songs I'd like to get close to in order to find the path to them :idk:

good thing is that with the Elements i really just need to tweak and find a different sound. the other two are so much simpler they'd need to be replaced.

But I don't really mind :lol: just not the best time, we actually have a couple of nice gigs over the summer...

ps: I am also aware it might be a matter of me craving a tube amp :idk: one never knows

:idk: well… I can't argue with that… tube amps always sound better to me.. I have almost always played through a tube amp unless I had to use some ones else's crap...
